You are not going to believe this. I had just finished opening the UPS box with my 2 Visiontek substitute cards and went to check my email. There was a cancellation email for my original 2 orders with a $10 credit for each. I got the deal and another $20! I love this Country!
Yes!!!! Success!!! I just got off the phone and was given 2 X Visiontek as a substitute for my 2 orders. 1 Day shipping and they took off the $20 rebate from the HIS deal on each one. $203 each with free 1 day shipping! 4 chats, 4 emails, and 3 phone calls later.
The crazy part is I didn't...
I sent a price match request to NCIX for the MC $149.99 weekend deal on the 2500K CPU and within a 1/2 hr it was approved! I just received my invoice via email. The nearest MC for me is 350 miles away and I would have to pay sales tax. With NCIX I got FS and no tax!
I just played Crysis for 2 hours... no problem at 8xaa very high settings. This card is more powerful than I imagined. I am still trying to find a second one. It apparently isn't as easy as I thought. I will keep you posted.
I have had the card for a few days now. It came in the original box with all the accessories. The card is in excellent condition. I registered it with MSI. It has 2 years 10 months left on the warranty. I am very pleased. It does perform smoother than my GTX 460 SLI setup did. I noticed it right...
One review site I saw had my exact power supply as part of their test setup. All the other review sites were using 1200w power supplies. I think I should be fine based on those figures. thanks.
Correct. All the review sites have reached 1000 MHz +. I think at that speed you are pretty close to GTX 580 performance. I figured for $225 I couldn't go wrong. It was $235 + $8.50 shipping. I had a 10% off ($20 max) coupon for new account holders.
I was able to buy an open box MSI HD 6970 Lightning on Newegg for $225 shipped. I plan on buying a second for crossfire. I game at 1080p on a 46" monitor. How much of a performance increase can I expect over my GTX 460 SLI setup? Thanks.
I have video card envy right now. I found this little hot number on Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo
I currently have the SLI setup in my sig. I game occasionally at 1080p. I could sell my video cards and probably "upgrade" for $140. Eventually I could add a second...
The difference has to be extreme. These cards scale at over 90% in SLI. My computer monitor is a 46" Sharp LCD. I think for my case at 1080p there won't be an issue.
What current single card solution would the Cyclones in my sig compare to? This is a curiosity question more than an upgrade question. I game at 1080p.
Do you think 60gb would be good enough for me? I just worry as the 36gb figure I gave you above is +/- 15gb. Everyone in my family uses the computer. Downloads, pictures, videos, school projects, etc. are often temporarily placed on the desktop until we have time to organize them on to the...
Fellow Anandtechers,
Let me know what you think of the following SSD. $175 seems to be a great price. Currently, my boot drive has 36Gb on it. This one should give me sufficient head room. Thanks.

The article in the following thread explains the "pricey" situation. With a shortage of NAND, 2011 will definitely not be the year of the cheap SSD.

Wow! What ever happened to the "higher capacity for the same price as current drives" idea. OCZ Vertex 2 here I come.

$114.99 - $15 rebate card with free shipping. I am so close to pulling the trigger. Someone please talk me out of it!

Now here is a reasonable soul! Ok so here is the deal. Before I owned the "enthusiast" i7 platform, I was a socket 775 owner on a P35 Gigabyte board. I upgraded the CPU on that board 3 times. e4300 ---> e7200 ---> Q9650. I loved each one of those CPUs. They each OC'd like heck, and I felt like I...
Did you go into disk management to see if the drive shows up? Did you format the drive or did it come formatted? I have an external dual drive enclosure plugged in via esata running in raid 1. I had to do some work initially to get it running properly. That was mainly due to the software...
I know it sounds like madness. I have been waiting to upgrade to an SSD for months now. I know the next generation SSDs are going to be better in performance and stability. I also know they will be SATA III which my current MB does not support. My MB also does not have USB 3.0 and I see more and...
Thanks for all of your input. The reason I brought up this topic is that we are getting rid of our cable service. It is getting rather expensive, especially for the amount we use it. I will replace it with an HTPC. I am going to give it a go with our current wireless set up. If we need better...
I have this router. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Tpk=dir%20655
So I would have to run a cable in the basement from one room to the other and then have an ethernet wall plug in each room. That is what I was afraid of.
Greetings,
We currently have our cable modem in the study. I will be building an HTPC this month which we will use in the TV room. We will be streaming all of our TV content from the internet. I want the fastest possible connection in the TV room... faster than wireless. I would like to leave...
It sounds like you want to buy one. I recommend the MSI 1GB Cyclone. It overclocks like mad and is well built. I own 2 of them. 2 of those in SLI will dry hump most single card setups that cost much more! I can tell you from experience that it is the way to go.
Please state in which ways that psu is nicer. It actually isn't. If u really read some reviews, you will see where the thing actually blew up. Your original Corsair choice is the right one.
I can't seem to find a retail outlet that sells them. There are some Chinese companies on Ebay that sell "genuine" models but I don't trust them. I need a 90mm one specifically. Thanks.
