I'm currently running 2 Quadro FX 570s in a core 2 quad pc (Dell T3400) driving 4 dvi displays. I can't seem to find the pcie generation of the cards or the mobo slots. I'm assuming all are gen 1.
My question: can I move the quadros to pcie gen 3 x4 electrical slots and get decent...
I supported the Kickstarter, but I lost faith early. I also picked up 2 TiVo roamios with lifetime back in October. Took the cable cards from my HD homeruns. Couldn't be happier. I think SD is gonna have a problem with DRM, which is all my Time Warner channels. Also not optimistic about a...
My server storage is for movies, software, personal data, pc backups, etc. Everything backs up to Crashplan. Not currently using anywhere near the full 29TB, even with duplication.
I love the concept. Obviously a PC at every television would be unrealistic. I do have firesticks, but looks like Fire TV box will be needed. I'm certainly not opposed to buying more hardware for protected live TV though. As long as TWC doesn't get any extra cash from me!
Does anyone know if the SD DVR software will support Xbox 360s as extenders like Windows MCE does? I can't find the answer on the kickstarter website. I'm currently using 3 xboxes with remotes and it works very well. I really want this software to succeed. The HDHomerun Prime works great...
Any greater risk of data loss than with matched drives in RAID 0? I have backups, just curious if it's worth making the effort. Probably not, but sometimes I feel the need to tinker ;)
With regards to my earlier post: mainly irritated about the titanfall deal. Day One editions could've gotten a credit or something. The price drop isn't that big a deal for me, but I am surprised it was so fast, ie 4-5 months. Of course I'll actually buy more games. I'm paid Xbox live gold...
F&@k you Microsoft. I preordered your console 6 months in advance to get a Day One Edition. With no game. Then you drop the price $50 AND give away Titanfall for free with the console. Now no kinect (with I don't use) and down to $399. The only game I won't buy for my PS4 instead will be...
This price is at several sites online if needed. Great price. I bought one even though my current Denon is great. Got it for the network access. Anyone want a gently used but mint AVR-891? LOL
I recently tried bridge mode on the same AT&T device. Didn't work. So I used my trendnet router as a wireless access point only by turning of its DHCP and only using the LAN ports to connect to the AT&T router. This worked perfectly. The AT&T router does NAT and DHCP for my network, and even...
I have a working Server 2012 Essentials install on my HP Mediasmart server at home. Working fine but a bit slow. I'm thinking of building a new more powerful server and moving my data over. Obviously I don't have 2 copies of the OS. How do I install the OS on the new server and deactivate...
So would this still be worth it for the aiff version? I could stream it to my denon receiver and klipsch speakers via an appletv more easily (I think). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks
I did the same in a dell T3400. I used 2 low end quadros (FX570's I think) and a 3rd low end GeForce card I already had. Quadros are driving 4 monitors at 2048x1536 each over DVI and the GeForce is driving a single monitor at 1920x1200 over DVI. Just used the nvidia quadro drivers. No issues...
AnyDVD HD is what I use to make those DVDs rippable. DVD Decrypter will get most things. I've found that CloneDVD and AnyDVD HD combo has let me rip everything I've thrown at them. However, this software has to be purchased. I've ripped nearly 200 DVDs with them.
I use AnyDVD HD and CloneDVD to rip to ISO, no compression. Single files for me so my young kids can find them the easier on the server. I playback on main TV with Gen 1 AppleTV with XBMC and with Patriot Box Offices in the kids' rooms, all from my WHS.
Note that ISO files don't play on...
FWIW, I had service with Insight at 20/2 with DOCSIS 2.0, but my upgrade to 50/5 required a new DOCSIS 3.0 modem (that they provided), which seems to work very well :) And since they're overcharging me anyway, I don't have to pay a rental fee ;)
Pariah, you are correct. I have the 7200rpm drives. I read the post too quickly.
My appologies to the OP. The ones I do have are problem-free so far. Had I not just bought 3 WD Green drives from another hot deal, I would buy these.
I used a dell inspiron 530s with leopard up to about 10.5.4. Used an add-in nvidia 8400 video card and and a USB NIC. Everything else just worked. That was a little over a year ago though. YMMV. Good luck.
