Seeking Help : Choosing HDD/SSD

Haha, thanks Zap! What is a BIOS fan profile? And how do I enable it? I think I'm about to learn something here :P Is it just an option in BIOS? And are Intel stock coolers generally quieter than AMD's? Drop me some knowledge! :)

A Newbies cry for Help

Looking through the errors, none of them caused a BSOD crash. I have stopped automatic restarts though, so I will be able to read the BSOD message this time around.

Cooling has never really been an issue, its worked fine for two years and all the fans are still functioning. How do I determine if my GPU is malfunctioning? Is there some kind of program like memtest to check for errors?

I apologize, I see what you're saying and that makes sense to me. I also think that it would be better to stick with an intel chipset because I haven't seen anything suggesting significant gains in performance from going SLI. Does anyone suggest otherwise?

That sounds like a lot of stress on my ram. I have a cooler for the sticks though, so I'm sure that will help them. What can I do with the third gig? And what setting in my BIOS would control the ratio? As I read, loosening the ratio means I can tighten timings. But I don't even know where 5:8...

I think its already been mentioned, Crucial has a high failure rate. I've heard this on several different areas of the forums. In the meantime, I'll get the RMA forms ready.. here we go again.

I have a pair of Crucial's Ballistix sticks as well, and I'm jumping through all sorts of hoops to get my comp back to its 2gigs of glory. Recently one of my sticks died so I RMA'd it and kept the good one. Surprise surprise, the new stick had countless errors after half an hour of running...
