Core i7 wake up call: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE overclocked to 6.29GHz!!

I think I might consider going the AMD route for my upcoming new build if these 6 core thuban CPUs turn out to be great.

What INTEL CPU do you currently use? Post here!

I'm using an Intel Xeon X3210 Quad CPU...I bought it off of ebay for $110 awhile back and I absolutely love it, currently have it at 3.5GHz but it can go up to 3.7GHz.

Any word on SimCity 5?

I would absolutely love an updated Sim Tower! That game was so addictive and I played the hell out of it back in the day...now I can barely get it to work on Windows 7 64-Bit :(

Are Sound Cards worth it?

I have an HT Omega Striker 7.1 and it sounds much better then my onboard sound, I love it and you can get it for only about $80 on newegg

Intel Xeon X3210 2.13GHz Quad (G0 Stepping) @ 3.5GHz 1.475v. I Absolutely love this CPU...I got it for only $100 on EBay back in the day and it is a monster when I play games and watch movies...very happy with it.

Pentium MMX 200 - Any use?

I would say use it as a firewall, router, or server by putting some flavor of linux or bsd on it. I recommend you try Debian, Arch Linux, or OpenBSD (if you're going for a secure server).

SC2 and D3: What is Blizzard doing?

I can't wait for Starcraft 2 and I'm anxiously awaiting it's release. I don't really care how long Blizzard takes in it's development as I'm sure it will live up to it's hype and I have many other games to play while I wait for it's release. Blizzard has never disappointed me with their games...

Upgrade from a 4870 to a 5850?

Would you sacrifice resolution for graphical quality?

I game at 1280x1024 on my 17" CRT and I don't mind it at all...not to mention all my games play flawlessly at this resolution with my rig.

What website building software would you recommend to a noob?

Dreamweaver CS4. Some might say that for newbies it's a little difficult to use but I wasn't that great with web design when I first started with it but spending a few hours with it I got the hang of it and it's a very powerful tool. There's many books you can pick up for it which help out...

What is the best game you've ever played?

I'd have to say Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood Wars. I remember starting to play this games back in 1999, and getting hooked on the multiplayer aspect. I absolutely loved playing on Battle.net and developing strategies to see what worked and what didn't and then I joined my very first gaming...

YOUR safe operating temperature?

My Xeon X3210 @ 3.52 w/ 1.425v runs idle at 47,49,44,44 and loads it hits up to 74c which I'm not to happy about but the thermal spec is 85c. I have just really never worried to much about my processor temps, I worry more about voltage.

Vista optimization for graphically intense games: User Profiles

It doesn't, even with 2GB I found Vista to be better then XP. I'm just stating that now that I have 6GB it's now the fastest Windows OS in my opinion.

Crysis Warhead hands on game play and quick preview

I actually can't wait for Warhead. I was obviously impressed with Crysis's graphics but not so much on the later gameplay/story. I'm hoping Crytek has learned from their mistakes and ends up coming out on top with this fleshed out addition to the storyline.

Thinking of getting a 4870

I highly recommend that 4870. I use to have a 8800GTS 320mb that I had overclocked and while it played all of my games fairly well with close to max settings, once I put this 4870 in I was blown away. I went from getting 12-16fps on Very High playing Crysis to now 30-40fps on Very High at...

need to raise Vdimm with four DIMM slots filled?

I'm using 2 x 2GB a-data ddr2-800 sticks and 2 x 1GB OCZ ddr2800 sticks for 6GB and I raised voltage to 2.0v with +0.1 to (G)MCH and they've been running fine At stock they were having some problems...so in some case you might have to raise the voltage a bit.
