Fix for Tuniq broken screws

thanks COPOHawk, this has helped me big time, one of my thumbscrews snapped as I was removing the Tuniq to put it on a new board. I'm glad I googled to find this solution, I see many Tuniq users posting the exact same problem. The retaining screws are weak.

This may sound really stupid but I've just got to ask about this binning process. Intel (or whoever make them for Intel) must churn out millions/billions of CPU chips in a year. How does this speed testing and binning of CPU chips take place. I can't believe that each individual CPU chip is...

What is VID?

So am I right in thinking that all four of these chips are identical but the E2200 is binned higher because it has been tested @ 2200 MHz (with higher base voltages) and passed those tests ? Intel Pentium Dual-Core Desktop Processor E2140: VID = 0.85V ? 1.5V Intel Pentium Dual-Core Desktop...

That's the point, the IP35-E was up on the Abit global website right next to the Pro, it was one of the highlited products, now it's disappeared and also disappeared from Abit's 2008 catalogue. I can still find plenty on dealer shelves here in the UK, but in my mind Abit have shot themselves in...

yup, I did read that some people were having problems with Abit P35 boards + Corsair PSU combinations over on Hexus forum. (others said they had no problems whatsoever). The Ballistix I got at a knockdown price & can only hope it boots @ 1.8V, last thing I want to do is spend money on a cheap...

X38 Release Information - Part Two

GA-P35-DS3R and Tuniq Tower 120

another tip when fitting the Tuniq, undo the 4 small phillips screws on top of the cooler, they're the ones that lock the 120CM fan in place, pull the fan up out of the cooler by approx 3" and use anything to wedge it in that raised position (i use the handle of the screwdriver) your fingers now...

Gigabyte P35 Motherboards -- Please explain the price to me

as stated, the GA-P35C-DS3R has an extra 2 slots to take DDR3 memory, otherwise they are identical. Personally I would go for the GA-P35C-DS3R, if sometime next year you decide to upgrade your RAM to DDR3 you won't need to buy a new motherboard.

Q6600s really do run hot!

I think this new 45nm technology will be expensive, nobody knows what price to expect but I think first releases of Penryn, Wolfdale & Yorkfields are gonna cost you plenty!
