    Fix for Tuniq broken screws

thanks COPOHawk, this has helped me big time, one of my thumbscrews snapped as I was removing the Tuniq to put it on a new board. I'm glad I googled to find this solution, I see many Tuniq users posting the exact same problem. The retaining screws are weak.

    Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

are you talking about this, because his comments here regarding Abit v MSI seem pretty balanced and are far from calling the Abit board crap, or maybe your talking about a different thread where he's being, how can I put this, ...more outspoken...

    What is VID?

just thinking about the technology involved is mindblowing, I gotta say I'm impressed! thanks for the info.

    What is VID?

This may sound really stupid but I've just got to ask about this binning process. Intel (or whoever make them for Intel) must churn out millions/billions of CPU chips in a year. How does this speed testing and binning of CPU chips take place. I can't believe that each individual CPU chip is...

    What is VID?

So am I right in thinking that all four of these chips are identical but the E2200 is binned higher because it has been tested @ 2200 MHz (with higher base voltages) and passed those tests ? Intel Pentium Dual-Core Desktop Processor E2140: VID = 0.85V ? 1.5V Intel Pentium Dual-Core Desktop...

    Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

That's the point, the IP35-E was up on the Abit global website right next to the Pro, it was one of the highlited products, now it's disappeared and also disappeared from Abit's 2008 catalogue. I can still find plenty on dealer shelves here in the UK, but in my mind Abit have shot themselves in...

    Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

Abit have removed the IP35-E from the global main webpage, in it's place sits the inferior IP35V which looks cheap, ugly and on looks alone I would not want to buy one. Abit must be crazy if they are killing off IP35-E, this board has become something of a cult classic for overclockers on a...

    Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

    unfortunately In my part of the world (the UK) $100 won't buy an E4xxx E4300 = £72.00 or $147.00 US E4500 = £75.00 or $153.00 US E4600 = £85.00 or $174.00 US

    Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

yup, I did read that some people were having problems with Abit P35 boards + Corsair PSU combinations over on Hexus forum. (others said they had no problems whatsoever). The Ballistix I got at a knockdown price & can only hope it boots @ 1.8V, last thing I want to do is spend money on a cheap...

    Abit IP35-E Review (500MHz FSB board)...$90 @ NewEgg + $6.61 ship

I'm looking at building a new rig on a budget, I'm thinking Abit IP35-E + Core 2 Duo E4500. For cooling I already have a Tuniq 120, and for memory I bought 2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500's when the price dropped ridiculously low. So if I put all those components together, what kind of overclock...

X38 Release Information - Part Two

Come next year everyone will be wanting DDR3 memory sticks. DDR2 memory is not capable of exploiting the full potential of X38 motherboards in terms of memory speed. Anyone splashing out on an X38 DDR2 motherboard in the coming weeks ( ASUS P5E ) may be regretting it sooner rather than later...

    GA-P35-DS3R and Tuniq Tower 120

another tip when fitting the Tuniq, undo the 4 small phillips screws on top of the cooler, they're the ones that lock the 120CM fan in place, pull the fan up out of the cooler by approx 3" and use anything to wedge it in that raised position (i use the handle of the screwdriver) your fingers now...

    Asus Blitz Formula?

The thing I like about the Asus Blitz Formula Special Edition is the fact that you can run it with just a normal CPU heatsink & fan and nothing more, it will function perfectly well with air cooling. The Unofficial Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R P35 Board Thread

The tuniq at full speed is loud and very annoying, set the controller to halfway (about the 12 0 clock position and you can barely hear it yet there's still plenty of air pumping through it. It's the 120mm fan, you have to look carefully to notice it's spinning, but put your hand next to the...

Gigabyte P35 Motherboards -- Please explain the price to me

as stated, the GA-P35C-DS3R has an extra 2 slots to take DDR3 memory, otherwise they are identical. Personally I would go for the GA-P35C-DS3R, if sometime next year you decide to upgrade your RAM to DDR3 you won't need to buy a new motherboard.

New Asus P5KC versus Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R

New Asus P5KC versus Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R I'm undecided which board to go for but will be buying one in July. I like the fact that both boards support DDR2 & DDR3 memory and 45nm technology. I only have 1 gfx card so crossfire is not important for me. Prices for both boards are almost the...
