Oh, my!
The wittle Trolls have got their panties in a wadd.
No big surprise.
What type of 'return' did Uncle Sam get on the 2001 & 2003 tax cuts?
Show us how that VooDoo Economics 'stimulated' GDP. Show us how pre-emptive war, a massive military build-up and a DrugCo give-a-way (none of...
I hate to interject things like 'facts' into such a stimulating obfuscation but here is where we are:
1) Thomson was built for $140 million;
2) The 2010 Fed budget includes $170 million for the purchase of Thomson and necessary upgrades to 'SuperMax' status;
3) Thomson has been appraised...
General Rule of Thumb: For each 10 percent increase in NB/IMC speed, memory bandwidth is increased 3-4 percent and latency is reduced 3-4 percent.
Provides a nice boost in memory-intensive apps and most gaming.
As far as the HT -- my understanding is as long as your HT speed exceeds the...
It might help if we knew the rest of your components -- mobo, RAMs, cooling, etc.
1) Read your mobo manual and learn how to reset your CMOS (if necessary);
2) Drop your memory ratio one notch (i.e., one speed grade);
3) Lock your PCIe to 100MHz; and
4) Raise your clock from 200MHz...
If you are willing to put a little effort into it I'd go ahead and swap out the motherboard because that HP BIOS is going to hold you back as much as anything.
It's 'routine' maintenance if you snag a similar 785g AM3 chipset to replace a broken component.
You should be more careful when...
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
DANGER, Will Robinson!
<Robot from Lost in Space>
You have spec'ed an mATX motherboard and chosen a mini-ITX case.
Now ... it looks as if the Silverstone LC02 will accept an mATX motherboard so we will assume that its "Clone" will as well. That sounds...
I'll guess that mfenn is referring to the degradation of your SSD because of the limitations of the XP OS (no TRIM, garbage collection, etc.).
If you get it going whatever you do, don't defrag the SSD in XP. And it's my understanding that turning off the indexing services will help lengthen...
In case you haven't noticed (or are simply ignoring the facts) in the last 30 years we have closed 1,000s of leaking, stinking and obnoxious landfills.
During that time in America not only do we now reclaim about 30% of the waste stream (reducing the need for future landfill space), our...
Can't really argue with this.
The Con Propaganda and Spin (& RAGE!) is going to bite them on the arse this November when they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Of course, they could dial back the hate and obfuscation, and actually explain to the American people how they would move the...

As LED lamp production ramps over the next few years CFL prices will drop like a stone making incandescent bulbs useless.
Thought yall might want to know ...

I've been lusting after the Asus M4A88T-I Deluxe 880g Mini ITX since it rolled out.
My recent experience with Asus has been excellent. I'm benching a 785TD-V as an HTPC replacement and it's been a joy. Sleeps at 2w and wakes in a manner of seconds - been up for 2+ weeks. Makes it really hard...
All of his AM3 components (PhII 955be & AData RAMs) can be moved to an AM3+ motherboard because of the backward compatibility. He would then have drop-in BD Zambezi when the budget permits.
For that simple reason I would invest in a 'Full Retail' copy of Win7 64-bit (just to keep things nice...
Cities Increasingly Turn to 'Trash Police' to Enforce Recycling Laws
Good.
Better if it reduces the cost of waste management to folks who get with the program. The best way to eliminate prohibited materials from the waste stream is to start at the source.
Even better when it further...
If you are interested in a CF (and you probably should be) now would be a good time to jump.
Inventory of the HD4870s is getting thin but prices are great. Could be the best $120 you ever spend, and in CF should bump your graphics to GTX470/HD5850 levels and beyond.
Probably a good time...
To try and get back on point (as if a troll thread has any point, anyway):
It is impossible to lower unemployment and increase GDP when as a country we see a sharp acceleration in imports and a sharp deceleration in national private inventory investment.
Even though personal consumption is...
I don't believe the calculations quite work that way.
It's more like a double-entry ledger of national accounts. 'Snapshots' are taken monthly, quarterly and annually (up to 5 years back IIRC to reconcile GDP as specific numbers are available).
Though folks fixate on the quarterly BEA GDP...

The deal with the F3 HD502HJs is their cost ($55) and how they would work in a really nice multiple RAID setup for capture ---> output.
As you note, an SSD for the OS/Apps would be ideal. Then your first 2x500gb RAID may be setup for capture; your second 2x500gb RAID for output.
With the...
Lover Boy was wondering if he needed "...dual Xeon w/ quad core and 16Gb of memory..." so he must have a decent budget - the F3s are $55/pop.
And I wonder what kind of home movies a guy named **LoverBoyJ** wants to edit?
:P
(It's a joke!)

The Party of Hate playing the victim card in a FNO thread? Must be getting close to an election. Color me not surprised.
IIRC, the "Liberals = Hate" rhetoric went no where in 2006 and 2008. We appreciate your 'recycling' but your election playbook is getting a little redundant.
The...

For each 10% you increase the NB/IMC, memory bandwidth is increased 3-4 percent and latency is reduced 3-4 percent. 2000MHz (stock) to 2400MHz = 20 percent increase.
This is easily accomplished (at stock volts) by changing the...

With C&Q enabled f you can run 100% load without errors at 1.25v check the voltage in CPUz at idle --- hopefully you will be in the 0.89v range. Let your computer go to sleep (FYI probably 3-5w at the wall), and then see if it will wake without blue screen or error.
Load the CPU again and...
