X38 or P35

I think the consensus on the Gigabyte is well founded, I haven't read too many problems with those boards, but then again you will never know till you actually own it, and then it's too late. As long as you stay away from MSI and stick to Gigabyte, Asus and Abit I think you will do just fine.

X38 or P35

As far as I know P35 also supports PCIE 2 specs with a simple bios flash. As far as X38 availability is concerned, no one ever really knows when something will be widely available, I just quoted what I read in some report I read a couple of weeks ago. He wanted to know if the X38 chipset...

P35 vs. 680i

P35 chipset boards seem to be plagued by different problems depending on manufacturer, but if you don't mind the problems they generally overclock very well. The 680i has been around for a while and has less problems right now and seems to overcklock as well if not maybe a bit better then P35...

Since I own a P35 board right now I can tell you with all certainty that if you are willing to deal with the headaches of owning the next gen board you should be prepared to deal with the stability issues and problems that plague the afore mentioned.In short,if you don't game, save yourself some...

What Motherboard should I choose?

Any of the suggested will do the job just fine, stay away from MSI their support is almost as bad as their motherboards.

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R

I think hes just trying to say this is really good memory, subsequently I totally agree with him. I'm running the same sticks XP6400 micron chips at 1032 mhz 4 4 4 12 stable and problem free...

MSI P35 Platinum BIOS

This bios is crap, the memory controller is so unstable in this release and it doesn't have good bandwith either. Sata optical drives are not present in boot options, if you needed to boot from dvd/cd how would you do it? If you want to do a review, do it on bios rev 1.0 which incidently was...
