How much have you spent at newegg over the years?

All personal purchases - $6k since 2003, so less than $1k a year, which isn't bad. It's gone down considerably in the last few years, after Fry's came to town.

New Gaming PC Build - Help!

Wait 4 weeks until Bulldozer rears it's head. At worst Intel could/would drop their prices if AMD does come through with a decent cpu - or it might just be impressive enough to warrant a thorough vetting.

You rig is fine, but I can tell you from experience that having your shadows turned on is a HUGE resource hog. That is what's causing your low frame rates. I bet if you turn them off, you'll never drop below 50fps no matter where you go or how many toons are there. Not sure if having...

can an AMD Athlon 2 X2 be snappier than an E8500?

Difference in RAM memory size/speed? I know when I went from 2GB to 4GB for the first time I was AMAZED at how much faster my system responded. I think it might be a combination of variables from going from one platform to the other that's giving you a better overall experience.

You might have a point, but by looking at the AMD 9X0 chipset specifications (which was build specifically for BD), they aren't that dissimilar from the AMD 8X0 chipsets. The 9X0 adds a few USB 3.0, removes all IDE support, faster and more (up to 32Gb) DDR3 memory support and not much else.

You know most 870/880/890 AMD mobo are going to support BD with a bios upgrade, right? It's dependent on the manufacturer's getting the BIOS's written, tested and released.

Thanks, I primarily use my pc for games, internet and burning cd/dvd's. So it sounds like it's not worth it to invest another $95 for Ram in this machine.
