Ease of switching processors in fully installed system

Good news to hear. I went ahead and ordered the Celeron 420 and will test it out a bit. Will see how things go. I just remember switching out motherboards pretty much guaranteed a need for a fresh window's (etc.) install, and wasn't sure if that would be the case for just the processor or not.

So while in the process of building my new home computer system my old one failed completely. I currently have everything ordered...EXCEPT for the Processor. I have a friend whom is getting me a good deal on a processor, but it will be about a month before I can order it let alone have it...

DFI Motherboard Choices

Thanks for the help. Processor - Currently I am not dead set on the processor. I know it will either be an E8400/E8500 or one of the newer Quad core processors, but I wanted to nail down a motherboard before moving on to that final decision. I am not planning on doing crossfire...at least...

What RAM for MSI P35 Neo2-FR motherboard and E6750 Processor
