I guess having a high post count doesn't preclude being a troll.
It seemed to me to be a decent request. I've tried it, don't like it and want to lose it. Thanks to all who suggested ways to customize it or suggestions on how to get rid of it.

Look, if I could at least customize it I wouldn't mind, but there's no way to do that either. That article is for the IE command bar, not the explorer command bar. Can I do anything at all with this thing?
I'm not refering to the title bar or the menu bar. Vista included a new feature called the "command bar" and didn't include an easy way to get rid of it.

I haven't found a way to do this. The bar is completely redundant and takes up valuable screen real estate, but MS decided to not only include it in EVERY damn explorer window, but make it impossible to remove?

There seems to be some talk of the apple 20", but what is the word on the apple 23" cinema display? Is it as good as the 20"? Better? Ghosting? What kind of panel?
