Can I do better than this tablet?

I've been using ASUS MemoPad HD7 which has 1GB RAM/16G ROM for past 2 and a half years. So I think I'm pretty familiar with this topic usage model. Based on my experience, if you open 5~8 apps concurrently, some apps would be kept, some apps would be deleted from RAM, and you've to reload it...

Are ASROCk motherboards any good?

I think the bottom-end of ASRock boards are pretty average in terms of longevity and component choice. My brother's N68 C-S UCC failed on him after 4 years service lifetime. Also, ASRock used push pins to lock CPU plate rather than screws like other competitors. That said, it's 50 dollars...

MSI Z97 PC Mate - how good / bad, does anyone have one?

I used this combo setup for my younger brother. The board managed to OC G3258 to 4.3G with a hassle. I stopped here due to CPU heat/noise consideration. I think it's a great combo setup given its pricing.

Migrating OS from one SSD to another

Ya. Acronis is a lot easier to use than Windows built-in back/restore. Btw, I've migrated Win7 from Micron C300 to Intel 330 just a few days ago using Acronis disk clone feature.

SSD in a SATA II mobo?

C300 will be bottlenecked by SATA2 -- around 250~260MB/s. That said, C300 will be a lot faster than Raptor regardless of SATA2 or SATA3 interface.

Avoid AMD AHCI driver at all costs

RAID doesn't support TRIM, regardless of Intel/AMD/MS SATA drivers ....... find a SSD which has better resilient ability due to strong garbage collection and wear-leveling for you.

I'm running Kingston 64GB SSD on my AMD 770+SB700 board. The TRIM is working normally as I ran and kept AS-SSD bench results every month...... Kingston SSD scored relative consistently across the board. Sometimes, the Sequential Read/Write may drop a bit, but it will come back one or two months...

After using the Kingston SSDNow V 128GB... just a quick review.

I never experience lockup with my SSDNOW 64GB. But I'm a typical desktop user whose demand is very light. That said, I think Kingston's 64GB is very good in terms of price, performance, and capacity. After all, 30/40GB budget SSDs are too small even for casual gamers, let alone serious gamers.
