FRAPS. or even easier, use the built-in tool. in the menu or game, type ~, then type "r_displayinfo 1" (without quotes), then press enter.

Problems w/ a friends build

Just a guess, but it may be the ram. Have you tried giving them more voltage? Sometimes the default 1.8V is not enough.

Customizing the data GridView in ASP.net

Have you tried using DataList to accomplish what you want? It is easier to customize by using "property builder" when you click the right arrow.

Time to upgrade the Athlon-1000. Finally...

What CPU are you considering? I have the IP35 Pro and I know very few who are dissatisfied with it. Not a whole lot of data has been gathered when using it with Penryn, though. For my cousin's build we are pairing a q9450 with it, so we will see how that goes. I also have that video...

What is the glossy finish that is found on some LCDs called?

I think it is actually called glossy. The alternative is a matte finish. You don't see the terms thrown around as much for desktop monitors, because it is more important for laptop buyers who need a matte finish if they work in bright conditions.

Need help picking a strategy game

I hate to be a graphic whore, but how is Dawn of War for widescreen support (particularly 1680x1050). A google search makes it look spotty. Civ 4 also looks to not fare as well with supported resolutions. I'm leaning toward CoH right now, and I'll definitely look into C&C 3.

I've built this nice PC and I'm tired of playing FPS. Between these games what would you all recommend. I have not played a strategy game on PC since Warcraft III, but something similar to that would be a plus. Also, since I am so noob, single player is more important, but a nice multiplayer...

If you are using a table, under that table's style put this: margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; and for the background image my software did this <body style="background-image: url('imagename.jpg')"> all your html </body> I'm new to all this, but I hope this much is right.

The specs are just implying that it can support those speeds. You could use DDR2-667 and that would work also. DDR2 is DDR2, just some manufacturers promise higher speeds than others.

That is a fine build, if you are fine with the fact that it is probably not a huge improvement over your 3800+ build. I would spend an extra ~$200 to get a nice Intel chip and the 9600GT video card. Unfortunately, the E8400 is either out of stock or price gouged so I cannot really recommend...

Good apps/usefull software for Vista?

Well, the built-in unzipping tool is a disaster. So, if you are like me and unzip a lot of files you will need an alternative. I use winRAR, but 7-Zip also works.

Help me with encoding!

My videos alway look better when I convert them using Dr. Divx instead of uploading them as H.264. So, if I wanted to only use free software, I would output to the highest quality AVI with Windows Movie Maker, and then convert it to <100mb with Dr. Divx.

Hi all! CPU-Z problems with Q6600 G0!

That is normal. It is called SpeedStep. Basically software detects if there is little load, and lowers the multiplier to lower voltage which means less heat and energy use. Run a stress test and you should see it go to default.

That eVGA price is $349 w/ Crysis. I went with eVGA because it came with Crysis. Also, I thought I would use the step-up program, but my time is running out. They are both cheaper at newegg.com if that is an option for you.

Static sound from front audio ports

Yeah, it is just the front jack. The rear is perfectly clear. I checked the wire going into the motherboard and it was not loose. I can't really see the front jack from inside the computer, to check it. The wire runs past the video card and two sata cables. Can this cause interference, or...

I'm using everest. I dled prime95, and now my temps make more sense. I knew my TCASE was too good. Here are the temps after 30 mins. CPU: 34 C Core1: 47 Core2: 45 Core3: 46 Core4: 45 I'll up the voltage and try 3.0GHz. Thanks.

Static sound from front audio ports
