Question worth upgrading?

Office work is more important. But can I be demanding and ask for 2 builds: work vs gaming? I might have my T420 directed towards office while this build could be my relaxation station. :p

My laptop has a Intel HD3000 :D It runs Civ5 on low/medium, AOE 3 on high. BF3/4, COD are obviously not playable. However, I played BF4 on an Intel HD4400.

I dont know what you mean by "led diagnos" but as I said before there's the green led that's lit telling it's getting juice from the psu.

I tried two different psu's and it's all the same. I also took out the battery for an hour, but still didn't make a difference. The green led of the mb turns on, so there must be electricity running thru the board, correct?

Nothing on the screen, and I also cleared CMOS and took out the battery, nothing. It's not in a case and not connected to a monitor, btw. But before that, it was connected to a screen and nothing came on.

problem with new pc

I've ran memtest for over 13 hrs and got 60 Passes and 0 Errors. So this stick should be perfectly fine. Could I try changing the voltage? I remember someone here said to put the voltage to 2.1 instead of the default 1.8v, but I manually set it to 1.9v.

OK, I ran Test #5 [Block move, 64 moves] for over an hour and got 76 Passes. Now what should I do? Any explanation on why windows is slowing....before beginning installation even??

Guys, it's taking a LONG time to get the "Install" dialogue box to appear, (i might have to start pressing enter or opening the cd rom and closing it); then later "Please wait" takes a long time too, as if it's just froze. These are unusual amount of time. Any ideas? And how do I choose...

I booted with 1 stick of ram and I was able to enter bios. Now I've set the DDR2 voltage to +0.1v, because the default is 1.8v and this ram works on 1.9v. But when I put the 2nd stick, it did the same thing and I'm back to square one.

I had a problem with my DS3R and replaced it with the same model. Now when I power on, I get "Geforce 7600GT 256mb blah blah" on the top left corner of the screen, then hear a beep, then just restarts. That's it. I once hit the power button after that message and gave me the Gigabyte POST...

Have you seen the video i provided? I cleared CMOS before and even removed the battery for ~20 min, but nothing changed. I'll do everything again; now the motherboard is on the table and everything is unplugged and removed, except cpu and fan. I should now just clear CMOS and leave it...

No, did change anything. A friend of mine just told me to change the ram voltage from the default 1.8 to 1.9 by adding +0.1v in bios. And frequency is to 800 by default.

What details do you guys want? Tried installing xp again, at 13% I get and error setup cannot read file "dvdplay.exe" retry or skip? I chose retry, nothing; chose skip, continued but after a sec gave me BSOD saying: error blah blah... IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL don't know what's up with this...

So here it is: E6750 P35-DS3R 2x1gb Corsair XMS2 ddr2 800 I can't install windows; xp sp2 or vista. I get a BSOD during installation (mostly towards the end). This is the first time it ever happens to me. SMART is disabled in bios by default, should I enable it?

northbridge hs snapped

Well, I did a clean paste and reseated. Looks fine I feel it's still wobbly. When I press from the edges it swings side ways. I think it's the way it is, I re-did what I can, so hope nothing fries. Thanks guys for your help. (Y) :)
