most smart thieves wipe out a computer as soon as its stolen before they connect to the internet.
then if you build a hardware solution people will complain about being tracked.
i do know someone that tracks all his vehicles by using sprint family locator and keeping the phones hidden and wired...
usually the panels are identical.
its hard to explain but the sharp panel could be exactly what was used in that dell and in 15 other laptops from the same time period.
so i went ahead and pulled it out and it is actually the same as the old one from my acer, so now i just go buy my ssd and figure out how to mount it inside this one and see how it goes from there.
when my acer drive went bad i just went to microcenter and bought a sony optiarc laptop drive and took the little adapter off the old one and put it on the new one and slid it right in, same with my hp.
i just assumed that what microcenter sold was the standard.
my original post said laptop, then i made an edit the night i posted and accidentally edited it out, then after i read the post with all the desktop parts i realized and edited it back.
i wasnt trying to be a smart ass. also i would have to be a dumbass to ask about a way to put a hard drive in...
do they make any hard drives that are made to go into the optical drive slot of my laptop, without buying a caddy?
obviously i would want it to fit flush...
i want to keep the drive thats in it for storage and use this for os...
i just noticed this isnt express card so i think my question is pointless anyway lol

what do you guys think about these?
eaccess violation is usually a program trying to access bad memory but that doesn t mean that is your problem here. i would try to see if a linux livecd loads up fine and if it does i would just reinstall my windows.
after using it im in love.
here is the sequence of events that led to me having this laptop :
i traded my q6600 rig for an msi a6000
i traded my a6000 for a pentium d & 20" LCD a couple dells and an Emac and a pistol.
i somehow managed to get $400 for the pentium d and LCD.
i sold an...
i am only gonna try to sell it so i can get a better one.
i dont even make 10k a year so this is the only way i can get a nice computer.
i wanted to make sure i buy something that i can use, that way if it doesnt sell i can still enjoy it but if it sells i can get something better.
thanks for...
this isnt even really about a purchase its about trackpad abuse!
i read in a previous thread someone was told to make a new thread for a new build... so thats what i was doing.
yes i know that, but my original build was an athlon 2 quad, which you replied in that thread also. so this is still a huge upgrade i am thinking.
i am glad all this mess is over.
i kept missing all the steals on craigslist and i was about to give up and go buy the athlon quad when this guy...
a motherboard starting to go bad could cause this.
bad memory could cause this, bad psu could cause this.
memory going bad could cause this and when the pc reads a certain block of memory it freezes.
bad psu could cause this because its losing power and its not losing enough to turn all the way...
