I believe that I have the 3c905c-tx. The 3 work servers are running Samba versions: one at 2.0.7 and two at 2.2.2. I will try this first and if I don?t have and issue here, upgrade at home. If I also have the same issue here, then it?s an Xp issue, I guess. Thanks again all. Dan

AMD Athlon 1600+ XP @ Newegg $51.98 - "24-hour sale"

last week i bought a xp1600 from newegg. Stock it was 133*10.5 for 1400mhz. Mine is happy at 166*10.5 for 1750mhz or 2100xp speeds. For $50+ bucks its hard to pass. Great upgrade from my duron 600@1.03ghz.

This will never be settled! Do you use an all SCSI or all IDE based sytem and why?

my main computer i run all scsi. it is nice when i want to burn a cd at 8x yet still play quake 3. it is also nice if you have a lot of hard drives. the most i ever ran at one time was 7. plus a cd and a burner and a 24gig tape drive. try that with ide. but you have to look at the cost. ouch...

FreeBSD and RAID?

I am setting up my first big FreeBSD server and need to go scsi. I am looking to run 3or4 IBM 18gig ultra 160 drives in RAID 5. I have found two options so far that support 160 and fit in the budget: Mylex AcceleRAID 170 Adaptic 2100s Any one have any luck with these? or any other sugestions?

i have the same issue everytime i reinstall win2k on both of my abit boards. my solution was to go into the control panel , and under power, the advanced tab. i dont recall what i set but i know it was found there. dan

looks like buy.com has the ibm 15 gb 75gxp's in stock

i have 4 of the 15 gig drives and 2 of the 30 gig drives ant work and they all run cool and quiet. no need to cool them with extra fans.
