I just noticed that the stock heatsink for my e6750 takes four pins and there is a place on my mother board thats labeled cpu fan with four pins. I'm going to install a Thermalright Ultima 90 with a Panaflo Fan on it, but the panaflo fan takes only three pins. Can i just plug it into a different...

New build in almost a week

Measuring Temperatures

I was wondering how people measure case temperatures. I understand that there are programs that will tell you your cpu and vga temps, but what about the inside of the case? How do you measure that?

Question about airflow in a duct

Question about airflow in a duct

I'm going to have a duct go from a 92mm fan mounted to my heatsink to an 80mm blow hole fan on the top of my case. There is also an 80mm intake fan in the rear of the case blowing towards the heatsink. Here is an approximation of what it will be like (ignore periods)...

Question about plexiglass ducting and static electricity

If I build ducts for the inside of my case out of plexiglass, should i worry about a static charge building up? Or if the duct is attached to the chassis, will it be grounded? It makes sense that it would be grounded and I should have no reason to worry, but what do you guys think?

quick question about postive airflow

Sorry I didn't respond, I just like reading everyones thoughts on the subject. Thanks for all the replies. You guys gave me some good ideas and I think I'm going to end up adding some ducting and then have positive airflow in the ducting while not worrying too much about over all...

I want a 120mm fan that has a ridiculously high CFM. I dont care about noise levels, I just want to see what the highest CFM I can get from one fan. So what is the fan I should be looking at?

positive vs. negative airflow

Which is better? I've heard good things about both such as positive makes your case less dusty and negative keeps it cooler, but are there any write-ups or tests that people have done which i can read in order to make a better decision? what do you guys think?

need help removing windows 2000 while keeping XP

My friend has one partition on his hard drive, and he has windows 2000 installed, but he also installed windows XP. Now he wants to get rid of 2000 while keeping XP without formatting, so does anyone know how he could do this?
