I have a Dell laptop, that requires me to login every time I use it. I tried the netplwiz command that allows you to uncheck the box "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" After doing that it still requires me to login each time. I went as far as rechecking the box...
Running Unigine Heaven/Valley right now on Quality/High Settings/1920x1080 looks amazing. About 10 minutes in and the gpu temp has settled at 67C in a 63F degree room.
I'm downloading Unigine Heaven/Valley now and will run it tonight. So the R9 380 and the R9 280x are so close in price which is the better buy? I told him to wait and try the game as well but with the blue screening on LL we figured now would be as good a time as any.
I'll show him the links on...
My son wants to upgrade his video card with something newer, he has a 560ti in it now I believe. The cpu is an i5-4670K non overclocked and 8GB ram. The computer will occasionally blue screen while playing League of Legends but runs stable for hours of music production work (hobby)
He bought...
I'm looking for the best bang for the the buck i5 or i7 chip that overclocks well. Price limit would be around $200 for the cpu and $100-$130 for the mobo. I've been building for years but I'm just not up to speed on the new chips. I'm not against buying used if the savings are there.
I...
I found a solution to this error I was getting with the Win10 upgrade, follow this link in case you have the same problem http://www.daringcoders.com/2015/01/windows-10-9926-technical-preview-issue/
That's kind of what I figured, that's why I posted this thread to see if anyone has gotten noticeably higher clocks on this board, plus I'd like to drop a i5 k chip in it later next year.
How is this board overclocking the G3258 for you guys? I've been using it to OC my G3258 for a week or so and it seems to be doing ok. I have the cpu doing 4.3ghz. at 1.240volts and 4.4ghz. 1.320volts. That's with a Arctic Freezer7 Pro Rev.2 cooler.
I just received the Cooler Master 212 Evo...
With the cooling you have 1.25v is fine. up the voltage and crank that bitch up! if it's truly stable at the setting you have now you should hit 4.6 without to much trouble
I picked one up from ebay a few months ago for about that price. Seller had good feedback, I did have to call and do the phone activation but it works fine. PM me if you want the name of the seller.
The G2 was my third choice, how would it compare to the nexus5 and the S4? Im really looking at any goood phone in the $300-$350 price range. Coming from an S3.
Damn, they charge tax for all states? Im in washington we pay almost 10% tax. Looks like I need to find a used nexus5. I'm glad I asked because I was leaning towards the S4 based on price, thinking they were much closer in comparison .
Im considering buying one of these phones, In know a little about both but not enough to decide which is the better deal. The nexus for $350. Plus shipping new or the S4 used for about $300.
Wow, thanks for the links we really hadn't looked at the Lenovo laptops and I see that would have been a big oversight. The y510p look like really good deals! I'll show him these when he gets home tonight.
My son needs a new laptop, primary use would be music producing, editing with "Reason" and similar programs. He uses an AKAI keyboard and just picked up some turntables he said. We'll call him advanced hobbyist if you will. Needs the laptop just to be more portable from time to time
He uses...
My son is using an M-audio fast track pro with Komplete BX5a monitor/speakers Akai MKP49 keyboard. This is hooked up via usb to a newer build MSI Z87-g45 mobo and Haswell cpu with 8GB ram.
He's getting some crackling and static when he has music program open and is multitasking etc...
There are plenty of good videos on you tube for assembly of the lower. Not really that difficult to assemble if you take you time.
PSA's Rifle Kit would be an excellent option for you. The kit comes with everything you need except the lower receiver to build a complete AR for right about...
Yes!! That's it. Thank you.
Strange how nothing happens when you click on it or hit enter but just start typing numbers and it's good, Still slightly embarrassing haha
I can't adjust cpu ratio in the Bios, it's not grey'd out but will not change. The cpu will OC when using the OC Genie, it sets the ratio at 40 and cpu runs fine at 4000mhz. I've been overclocking for years and I'm stumped on this one is there something else in the bios that has to be enabled...
"A 4670K and MSI Z87-G45 for $320 shipped"
How would this compare to an 2500K and board, with 4.0-4.5 OC on both?
I'm really not up to speed on the haswell and was planning on a 2500K until I saw this.
Ikea Galant is an awesome desk. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S89807037/
I've heard their shipping cost can be high. if you don't have an Ikea nearby check craigslist.
No problem lakedude
He said he wants to stay with the 2500k cpu and overclock it(4-4.5ghz). So this ASRock Z75 Pro3 that was suggested earlier looks good, I assume without the SSD caching it's going to take a performance hit later when he upgrades to an SSD drive? Any better choices in that...
This might help to clear somethings up. Note the bold text.
As much as I appreciate the concern on my other systems, they're better/faster than his comp and I'm only concerned with his new build.
I had no idea that card had any life left in it, will the faster cpu/mobo/ram combo squeeze more power out of it or is the Core 2 duo E7200 already maxing it out, like I mentioned he only games at probably 1204 or 1280?
Damn, I wish I did.
Yeah, I've been dragging my heals on Win7 but just found this "Windows 7 Family Pack Home Premium Upgrade (3-User) for $80." I can do all three of our computers now!
I was thinking the same thing, thats why I asked about i3-2120 in my first post. He's coming from an E7300 core 2 duo with a mild OC. I did'nt know if the 2120 was going to be a big enough jump without overclocking it but sounds like it could be.
Lot's of good info here guys, I appreciate it!!
