LOL...omg. Dude why are you still arguing. You contradict yourself so much it's ridiculous. First you said heat capacity increases with humidity: "the heat capacity of air doubles from 0% humidity to 100% humidity." Thats 1:1 ratio dude; thats significant. Now you are saying it will not change...

LOL...actually you just proved that I'm right. Since most of use use air to cool the heatsink, of course the content of air is important. It's obvious. Yes, I was wrong on the humid air, but you're wrong on the whole idea of humidity itself, which is ironic because you were trying to correct me.

I would say anything above 60 is hot...even if its physically okay to run your cpu at 70...you gotta have that peace of mind. I would never run my cpu on the edge like that...you never know what can tip it over to like 75 or even 80...maybe a humid day? One of your case fans suddenly dies? Too...

Oh, don't get me wrong. If you use your computer for editing and stuff, then by all means go for the q6600. If you're already using applications and doing things that require multiple cores, then you will get your money's worth with the q6600. For others, they're just putting down 300$ and hope...

Thats why I said the E6850 is only good for 1-2 years. If you can't upgrade for 3-5 years, then you should go for the q6600. We're talking about buying a 200-300$ chip not a 30,000$ car. If resale value is what you're worried about, you shouldn't even be building a computer.

your two main concerns are speed and heat...so its very easy 1. speed= E6850 wins here...eventhough the q6600 has 2 more cores...those cores will almost always remain idle...unless you're encoding video and doing a lot of animation editing. 2. Heat= E6850 wins again here...its known that...
