As far as I can tell, the ear buds for the 10 and 10vi are the same, they just come with different cables. I have read that the cables have the same sound quality.
If you are still concerned you can buy replacement cable for ~$20 and get ones without the mic.

Hmmm.... the add on there site says the 640MB is $329.99AR. When I bought it last night there was a $30.00 Rebate making it $339.99AR, now it shows only a $10.00 rebate. Not sure what is going on.
