AC 1 is the best of the bunch. From 2 onwards they treat the player as a toddler with more sims things like building houses instead of fighting.
I stopped playing AC2 when I realized that the guards can never kill you. They get you don to 1 hp, then stop attacking until you regen health...
Marketing, branding, advertising. For people that don't know a lot about PCs they buy Intel/nVidia. Simple as that. Enthusiats are really in the minoirty. The general public will pay more, for less performance if it has the "Intel Inside" sticker on it. Because that's what they know.
I had to now Google what an "Entertainment hutch" was. Never heard the term before. I know them as home/theatre cabinets.
On topic though, I think Sony/M$ did the smart thing going x86 and apu.
x86 so that the dev cost can be spread around once a pc version is taken into account.
APU as...
You can turn down the settings in games, but an old monitor with new GFX card will still look crap.
And that's excluding all the benefits of having a better monitor such as better movie watching, easy reading or even more work space if he ups the resolution.
A monitor is so much more useful...
Which is fine. A nice IPS monitor makes everything better, including movie watching, reading text on websites and gaming. You'll feel more "wow" from a decent monitor.
Many moons ago I had an awesome Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition.
Sure it didn't last long in typical Razet fashion, but was excellent to type and game on.
Now I'm using a Logitech G510 and it's horrible. I have played with a few friends mechanical keyboards, I just want another scissor key...
All awesome posts, but the TLDR version when talking about RIO is Steam sales. PC Gaming is cheaper when you factor in the cost of games. Even new games not on sale is cheaper on PC.
If you buy just 1 game a month, you see the RIO very quickly.
Best recommendation I've seen. Everything else is way overkill.
I'd also recommend getting the SSD now. Even if it means dropping down to a 285 from a 290.
Ouch.
If you don't want your PC to blow up, rather get a new power supply.
So you can get this power supply:

Has a nice rebate.
With this graphics card:

I seriously doubt there's any game you're playing now that doesn't give you 60FPS. If there is it's not the CPU holding back.
I'd rather spend the cash on a proper larger capacity SSD so you can install your games on it.
And I have a 360 Controller for those games where it works better. Not having a controller means you're missing out on some awesome games like Brothers and super meat boy.
If you really want to talk ROI, pc gaming is cheaper once yo ufactor in the cost of games.
but even so, I will always have a PC for it's other uses. So popping in a GPU isn't much cost. Besides the fun factor of building the PC myself. That also needs to be factored in.

People keep saying this, but has there been any official word from AMD to say no Excavator(or anything else) for AM3+? Or are people just going on rumours?
