Is using F@H enough of a stress test for the CPU? Currently running 3402 MHz (378x9) at 1.408Vcore. Cores are at 55,52,50,50 currently.

Currently running Prime95 for about 10 minutes now and all cores have dropped in temp between 7 and 10 C! I'm running at 1.44Vcore and my temps are all below 60 on load.

Well, I'm lapping my Thermalright Ultra 120 right now and I'm strongly considering lapping my Q6600 as well. Anyone think I should wait about 30 days? I want to get the best temps possible with my hardware right now and I figure I might as well get it over with.

Just found out that my TRU120 mounting bracket is missing the silicone washer in the center. I am able to rotate the heat sink while it's mounted. I think I need to get a washer. Check this out.

Is that with your Q6600 in your sig? Also, what is your VID? Mine is 1.3250. And did you also have to lap the IHS on your processor? The CPU temp my mobo reports is 56C under load right now.

Thanks for the response Virge. Well, I just reseated my TR-U120 E and I realized I had too much Arctic Silver on my original application. So I redid it and I also changed the direction of the heat sink so it now blows air out through the back of my case. Between the front and the back of my case...

Quad Core overheating at 59C idle?

I was under the impression that Core Temp 0.95.4 was fairly accurate in reporting temps and currently my CoreTemp reports temperatures exactly 15 degrees C higher than SpeedFan 4.33. I hope I'm wrong. :P

Asus P5K-E or P5K Deluxe?

There's also the extra cooling pipe and larger heat sink on the north bridge chip. Also, the mosfets on the top of the board have a heatsink on them whereas the P5K-E doesn't have a heatsink on all of the mosfets. I heard that the Deluxe has mosfets on the bottom of the board as well, whereas...

LoL, too late...I already decided on the P5K-E...but if I have any problems with that board I'll just return it for the DS4...However, I don't plan on using IDE at all, so it's a non-issue for me. I also saved $30.

Edit: Nevermind still went with the 800 sticks. Would be a waste since I'm only shooting for a FSB of 400 anyways (to achieve a speed of 3.6 GHz..hopefully)...

Well I just ordered my parts from ClubIT, but not yet from newegg, simply because I cannot decide on a damn motherboard. I'm seriously considering the P5K-E again now :P... I may go ahead, since it saves me like $30 and has all the features, and I'm a little worried about the cold-boot issue...

If it's that much of a problem to run games in vista with that card I plan on dual booting with XP anyway just to ensure compatibility. I can just run my games in XP, not much of a problem.

Is the 8800 GTS 320MB enough for me?

I think I will need a better PSU. My 12V rail is only 26A and I'm pretty sure I need at least 30A for this card and I'm going to be Overclocking my CPU.

Thanks. Yeah, I think I'm going to pay about $60 more and get double the memory with the 8800GTS 640 just so I'm not limiting myself with video ram in the future or the present. My main concern right now is my PSU though.
