I already have 5 good fans installed in my case so I'm good there. And yes I do know that higher voltage will cause memory to run hotter. That's why I said this above:
Thanks for chiming in all. I'm probably going to go ahead and order the G.Skill kit then. I do like the lower stock voltage of the G.Skill kit but I was wanting to gamble on the OCZ Reaper kit due to the rebate and the fact that I can get it local. I think the higher stock voltage is probably...
So I shut down my system to add a Hitachi 1TB drive and another LiteOn DVD-Burner. When I boot back up I get a C1 memory error on my Abit IP35 Pro. I'm like this is weird, I didn't even touch the memory. I shut down, unplug the new hard drive and burner and boot back up and it still was giving...
As I said everything I posted is true. If you want to doubt me that's fine by me. I'm just sharing my experience with the community as it is applicable to this thread.
I ordered the MSI 8800GT OC back on 11/29 from Dell for $207+tax and had it shipped to my work. Order was confirmed the next day and said it should ship out around 12/14. I got an email late last night saying my card had been shipped! I get to work this morning and shortly after DHL drops off a...
Doh!! I had it in my head that the setting that I needed was quad processor b/c I was running a quad core. I didn't even read the note below the System Type selection that clearly states "Attention: Dual or Quad Core CPUs are Single Processors." LMAO!! Damn ADD! :) Thank you guys for recognizing...
The x1 will be a TV capture card like the WinTV-HVR-1800. I actually haven't decided on that one just yet. It may end up being a PCI card.
The x4 will eventually be an Adaptec 3805 sata raid card.
I just did a calc for my new system and for some reason this just seems a little high:
System Type: Quad Processor
Motherboard: High End - Desktop (Abit IP5 Pro)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2400 MHz Kentsfield
Overclocked: 3000 MHz, 1.4 V
CPU Utilization (TDP): 85% TDP...
I can get the tuniq 120 LED for around $55 and it at least comes with a good fan. The Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme doesn't come with a fan so when it's all said and done you'll be around $80-$90. I think the tuniq 120 would be the better deal.
Has anyone had any experience with the Sunbeam Tuniq Tower 120 LED vs the non-LED version? I was wondering if the LED fan that comes with it would make any difference in processor temperature. I know the led will generate some heat but I wouldn't think it would be significant enough to affect...
