There's a BIOS and UEFI switch on the card. I have tried both. Where can I check if the latest BIOS is on there?

I was able to boot into windows after doing another OS reinstall and even got the drivers working. When I ran Windows Experience Index, the screen turned black again and a reboot resulted in a black screen after the windows logo.

I have a brand new R9 290 and before driver install everything would work fine except the wonky resolution, but after I install the driver, I would get a black screen after the windows logo. The screen would stay black afterwards and after restarting I would get the windows repair popping up...

CX430 with 7970 GHz edition +4670K?

Using some psu calculators on the web, it's cutting close, but it tells me I still have a little bit of headroom. I just don't know how that translates in the real world. The CX430 does have an 8 pin and a molex to 6 pin adapter for the GPU. What about no overclock on the CPU?

Can you also check if they have any asrock boards that are C2 other than the mini-ITX version? Maybe one of their extreme lines. Last time I went, they didn't have much C2s.

I only see C2 stickers on Asrock mini-ITX boards at microcenter. Nothing else has them.

Creative T20 standby mode

Sorry for bumping old thread, but I have these speakers too and they do indeed go into standby and will come out if it detects sound being played. I was searching if there was a way to turn that function off. If anyone knows anything...

This is probably the best way. How come no one's done this? Is this really that minor of a problem? I feel like this is a huge annoyance since I have an external connected most of the time.

The Gigabyte support rep told me that all their boards in the market right now are of C2 steppings and that the C1 was only on pre-production boards.

I emailed Gigabyte support and they've told me that the C2 stepping is already out in the market. How is one suppose to tell the difference when purchasing? So far, I haven't seen it advertised on the box of new motherboards.

Device disconnect sound at startup.

I will take a look at that. Thanks. Actually, there is a yellow "!". It is under Other devices and is labeled as an Unknown device. If I click the properties, it says "00000040 and CONFIGFLAG_FAILEDINSTALL". I'm not sure what this is.

Device disconnect sound at startup.

Every time I start the computer from a shutdown, I would get the device disconnect sound once I'm logged in to my desktop. I'm on W7 64-bit and I don't know which hardware it thinks is being disconnected. How do I find out what's doing this and make the sound go away without having to completely...

What timing should I run my underclocked ram?

I ran a memtest on those settings and the first pass came clean with no errors. On the second pass on test #5, I started to get 4 errors. I'm pretty sure I took a picture of it somewhere if it helps. But is RAM suppose to be 100% error free? I mean I can run windows fine with no problems by...

What timing should I run my underclocked ram?

I get more errors if I run memtest a little bit longer past pass 1 at 8-9-9-24 1.6V I tried to decrease the voltage before to less than 1.6 and got even more errors. Should I be running the voltages at the stated 1.65V even though I am not running these at 2000MHz?

Yea I don't see any splash when I boot up via HDMI, the TV will say it doesn't detect anything in the HDMI source. I haven't gone poking around much in the UEFI yet, but I guess that's my next option. I have the Asrock FM2A75M-ITX board if anyone knows what settings I should look at.

I have a Trinity HTPC that I want to connect to my TV via HDMI, but the TV doesn't recognize the computer and will say no source detected. It works fine via VGA, but not HDMI. I have the latest APU driver for my A8-5600K. Is there a setting to change video output to HDMI in the catalyst control?

What timing should I run my underclocked ram?

Currently, I've tried setting it to 1866 8,9,9,20 1T @1.5V and ran a memtest with no problems shown. And then there's these other timings that I just have no idea what to do with like the tRC, tWR, tRFC, tRRD. Am I fine with the above settings? And what do I do with the other timings?

I have the corsair DDR32000 CMX8GX3M2A2000C9 rated at 9-10-9-27, 1.65V that I would like to use in my Trinity system. I want to run it at 1866mhz, but what timings and voltage should I use it at? How much lower should I set my timings to begin with?

O alright, guess it should activate properly. Are there official iso out there for the OEM edition? I see that they have the upgrade edition for sale in the official MS store for download, but no mention of a full copy.

Is there an Windows 8 ISO and purchasing license from a diff country...

I am currently not in the United States at the moment, so I want to know if I can purchase the OEM license from the US (because it's around $30 cheaper in the US) and use that code to validate Windows 8 if there is an ISO of the retail version. Or is the license key region specific?

HTPC: Trinity A8-5600K vs A8-5500?

So far there hasn't been much mini-ITX boards released yet but I am seeing that these boards cost as much as a 5600K at the very least and much higher than ATX or mATX boards. However, the i3 has much cheaper mini-ITX boards. So I am wondering if Trinity is really that much better than the i3...

HTPC: Trinity A8-5600K vs A8-5500?

So which one would be a better buy for an htpc. They're both the same price, but 5600K is a bit faster and unlocked, but has a 100W TDP while the 5500 is a bit slower with a 65W TDP. How big would the actual power savings be? I assume idle power consumption between the 2 should be similar, but...

firefox + hp.com broken?

This is exactly what I see too when I go on the site. I have noscript and adblock but have disabled both to see if it fixes things, but the site still looks empty. I'm running firefox 13.01 but ie 9 seems to render that page fine.
