funny you say that Conjugal Visit (it hasnt all worked out to plan so far LOL), I managed to get it all going using Acronis to move the partition after setting up raid. Then recreated the boot sector by doing a auto repair with the vista CD and loaded my drivers from the gigabyte cd. all worked...

Look @ seasonic m12. Its 500w but certified. (EG. doesnt say 650w and is only 480w LOL) modular and all the cables are in the mesh stuff :D they arent too expensive either. Mid range. I was rather suprised with the cooling fans on it too.

mate now that you have said that im 90% sure that the PSU is your problems. Random reboots are a symptom of a stuffed psu. Look on the bright side, its cheaper than most the other components and would be one of the starting points for replacing things for troubleshooting anyways.

Yes, you will benefit from RAID but my understanding is you will need to set it up BEFORE installing the OS, unless maybe with mirroring. This is because the data will be stored across the two drives, either striped or spanned. (However i may be wrong) I also used the purple for ESATA...

its a 24 pin, i can recommend Seasonic.. and they aren't too expensive, plus its modular so easy to manage the cables, which are wrapped to help air flow and route. 5t3v0 - Thanks for the link, will read it when i get home.
