Epox 4G4A+: bad voltage regulation -> bad OCing

Well i have the same vcore problem, my games freezes everytime the vcore dips down too much on load. I have to set it at 1.80 at bios, so when its full load it dips to lowest at 1.68 and idles at 1.78 and these are from motherboard monitor. That the only way i can stay stable at 154 fsb 4:5...

Vcore problem with Epox 4G4A+

I have that problem also, it drops to the point where my games gives me errors or lockup. Now i'm running prime 95 to help me determine whats the prob. So far so good at vcore 1.8 at bios, in windows it idles about 1.78, under load its at 1.70. So far its passing prime at 2 hours.

**SURVEY: What's your max STABLE overclock using a EPoX 4G4A/+?**

P4 1.6A (Costa Rica 6/5/02) @2.52ghz 158mhz FSB 4:5 Mem ratio 394 DDR speed 512mb Samsung on powmem pcb CAS 2.5 6/3/3 1.72 Vcore 2.7 Vdimm I can go up to 400 ddr speed now that i have a new 520 watt ps. But I don't want to bump up the voltage for it to get stable.

The EPoX 4G4A+ seems very promising.

I am using 2.5/6/3/3 for my rams, so far i'm rock stable at 157 fsb 4:5 mem at 1.750 volts 2.8 dimm volt. Dont wanna push it to 160 fsb and up the volts to 1.80 just to get it stable.

Thanks for that comment crapito or i wouldn't even tried 4:5, because i thought i was limited by my rams samsung pc2700 on powmem pcb. On 3:4 i can only get to 143 fsb, while on 4:5 i was able to get to 160 fsb and it runs stable. Thanks

Yea mines is locked at 33/66 and using a antec 350 ps, if i move the fsb to 146 and over, it will do hang at in black screen also, this is with 3/4 mem ratio.

Anything i have in slot 1 regardless of having one in slot 2/3 or not, it will hang in black screen with nvidia drivers anything higher then around ddr337 and higher. If i use one in slot 2 and 3 its fine but since i have both double sided samsung 333, guess i have to use only one. Does that...

Just incase, I have the geforce 3 and using the the fake samsungs, samsung chips on powmem pcb. Hope they solve that problem quick.

Hey metro i think i had a similiar problem like yours, when i install new drivers for winme and winxp it would just hang when it loads up in black screen. The way that i solved it is not using your rams in the first slot that it doesn't share resources, i had to use the ones that are shared two...

Thanx guys i'll try that l1 pencil thing and see if i can get it to work, for now it will be geforce 2 mx, i'll overclock it , doubt he would want to spend more on a video card. Thanks again

Yes it is a morgan chip and the p3 is a 700e@933. Thanks for the quick response. I'm just wondering if the ddr would make a difference at all and its probably gonna run at 200mhz since thats what the duron supports. Would it be a big difference ir not i'll just give my friend the p3 with sdrams.

Epox 4sda+ bios question

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone know if enabling prefetch caching in bios would make a difference because i don't believe that intel 1.6a would support it and only athlon xp has it. Many thanks in advance.

hey goose i ran it default settings. My fsb is at 147 so it makes it 2.3 something ghz, if that helps and oh my geforce is clocked at 216/486

Not sure if this would help but, when i first ran mines i got lower scores but not like yours, i got 6000 something with a geforce 3 , til i remember i forgot to install the inf files for windows me. After that i got it back to 8000 something.

Something's up with my DSL

Yea try calling your isp, my ready light was on steady, but can't receive any data, so i called them up and after a few tries for a workaround and still no lucky, they say they give a trouble ticket to verizon to fix it up, but i'm not under winpoet so i wouldn't be so sure since mines is...

Something's up with my DSL

I have had plenty of those back then, its probably your isp is having problems or the phone company servers, well thats what my isp tells me, but usually i can't do nothing about it and have to wait til its back up. Sometime for me its a few mins, an hour or days. Thats dsl for ya.

Philips Acoustic Edge sound card annoying skip problem when using IE and an mp3 player

I use to have the same problem until i updated the drivers. So if you haven't done that yet, try that.

SB live or Philips

Go with philips quality wise it sounds better to me then a sb live, especially if you want nice 3d surround sound in gaming. My sb live has been shelfed for good.

How is the Phillips Acoustic Edge for gaming?

I have own all those sound cards and accoustic edge is the best at this moment for games, mp3s, and dvd is not that bad even tho i don't have a center speaker for it. Santa cruz was nice, just that i had driver probs with it. Vortex was my favorite for gaming just that its not supported no more...

GF2 GTS or Radeon DDR?

Radeon all the way !!! I just installed it today removing my gts 2, the colors are more vibrant then the gts. Still can frag alot in unreal tournament. Radeon is one sweet card
