WEIRD Q9450 Temps

OS = WinXP Pro SP2 32bit. It runs fine, and 3dMark06 posts scores relative to it's speed (GPU/CPU). Games also play perfectly fine. It's just the temp sensors seem totally borked. I have a Q6600 (B3) @ 3.2GHZ (1.343v), and I have better temps. I haven't tried real-temp.

Whats the dif between the Xigmatec S1283 and the Red Scorpion version

The Red Scorpion's pipes are also nickle plated, but it won't make a difference performance wise. Money-wise, the regular S1283 is a better deal. You're just paying for aesthetics with the red scorpion.

Best Air CPU Cooler now?

The guys over at frostytech did show that the Xigmatek did prove better. Most other sites show that the Xigmatek is second place to the TRUE. And as mentioned, more money, fan, and lapping, for an improvement within 1C .. I can't help but recommend the Xigmatek over the TRUE...

I beleive that your temps are actually really low to begin with that no matter what TIM you use, you won't see much difference. Because of of your water cooling, delta from ambient temp doesn't matter too much (other than the cooling of your liquid). You temp will have to do with the delta from...

As long as the constants of a controlled enviroment stay the same, the raw data is still valid. If the same system, with the same bad mount is used to test two different tims, they are valid. The temps may be off, but the offeset is the same to compare the two. The temps are just a number...

Actually, tests on the net have been showing that Ceramique, MX-2, and others have bested AS5 for months now. I used Ceramiqe because: 1.) I've already had it installed 2.) It's been installed for a month now (allowing for break-in and cure time) 3.) It's a better performer than AS5

IC Diamond 7 creator recommends a single "pea-sized" glob in the middle of the CPU ihs. Do NOT spread it, do not use Arctic Silver's "rice-grain" method. IC7 is thicker and the bond material does not spread will using manual methods. The best way to spread it is to just install the heatsink...

Q6600 - CPU-Z reporting 1.6GHZ (6x 266MHz)

CPU-Z is reporting my CPU at running at 1.6GHz (6 x 266MHz). Core Temp and nTune are reporting that is running normal at 2.4GHz (9x 266MHz). What's the deal? CPU-Z Core Temp nTune

Is an 8-pin PCI-E power plug the same thing as the 8-pin power for the motherboard?

You don't add the amps across both rails to get a total amperage. You have to divide the total wattage across both rails by 12v to get the correct total amperage. A = W/V I think a CPU would die before it could pull 18A all to itself. Anyway.. this is why single +12v rails with huge...
