Question Computer wont boot into Windows

I have disconnected all hard drives and attempted to use a USB to reinstall, it won't load the windows install on the USB. It hangs just like it does from the SSD harddrive.

high adaptive voltage on new overclock question

I am running prime when I get these vcore and temp readings and I have all the c states enabled. The chip throttles down nicely to around 0.765 when it idles so the C states and speed step are working. There are several voltage entries in the bios that show a min and max voltage for things...

I will have to run some benchmarks to see, but what are your thoughts on running the memory at 1200 with a 3 to 1 divider on the cpu for the same 3.2 ghz overclock. Not sure if this would be faster than the 800 mhz and 2 to 1 divider...

Yea that would be good, as it would allow them to run at half speed of 800 and this allows for a very easy overclock of that processor to 3.2ghz with a synchronized timings between the ram and CPU. I had this chip running at 3.2 for a few years in the old machine. Nice catch.

I see many people on the amazon page stating they have 8 gig of 1600 ram downgradded to 1333. That you tube video is exactly what I have going on with the beeps. so it is the RAM. Any thoughts on different combos taht I can get 8 gigs in the system. Or is it taking a roll of the dice any way...

I think we are talking about different things, the cpu is in the socket, triangle matched and latched down. the pins I was referring too are the heatsink, pins that push through the board and snap into place. They snap into place fine, but wrenching on things make a couple pop out that I had...

I cleaned them up yes. I was wondering as well since the heatsink has nobs that turn to "lock" them in place once pressing in, maybe the pins are a little loose. But when they are pressed in the heatsink is tight to the chip.

I know the memory support pages for many motherboards I have bought over the years never show the memory that I end up buying and I have never had a problem before. Can't believe that this board would be that picky.

I assume the heatsink is in good contact, it is the old heatsink that was on it last time. I think it is an artic cooler. The pins are down, don't know how to tell otherwise. The pins did come up a couple of time as I was attempting to get everything connected. But the pins went down...

Yea I have, as of now I only have the cpu, ram and motherboard hooked or or getting power, and still getting the beeps. The MB does have a VGA out, but I have not hooked up it as nothing is getting past the post to display anything.

So with the 530 watt PSU plugged into the MB, it cycled up a couple of times before it hit full power for some reason, but once it was at full power it gave the same beeps.

So pulled out the board and set it on the static bag, connected cpu power, and motherboard 24 pin, tried one stick or ram, tried the other stick of ram. All combinations still produce the steady beeps.

can you deactivate windows to put it on another computer

So I have an old laptop that I am replacing with a new desktop I am building. I would like to take the license key for laptop to the new desktop. I own the full retail version disk for installation. Is this possible? Or are there additional steps that I must take to do this?

What wireless adapters are you using?

Is there a way to know which cheap "N" class routers can be flashed to tomato? I checked the polar cloud site and it only list "G" class routers. It seems that the cheapest way to expand a network would be to flash a few routers to tomato and make them wireless bridges?

Thanks for the links Jack, though I have already gotten and set up the netgear R6300 that I got refurbished and it is running just fine. I toggled the old buffalo router to a wireless bridge in the tomato firmware and got the xbox back on line. Though it appears that it is not a strong enough...

Yea that is the problem, I am still sporting the stylish 54mbps in the old tomato flashed buffalo router. I have not had anything other than phones added to the network in several years so I have not needed to upgrade until now.
