Lowrider... I also have a q6600. I am running at 277 fsb with no problems. I am running 2gig DDR2 and an AGP video card. Booting clean is the wall. I can go faster if I use the setfsb utility.

IDE to SATA Adapter, anyone have exeperience?

Sorry I was traveling this week. I did twiddle with the dram settings this evening and was able get from 5200mb/s to 5600mb/s in Sandra. Thanks for the tips. Every little bit helps. Still at the wall of 280fsb though. Probably have to do a physical mod to break past that.

You can try it, but 1T more than likely will be unstable. I have DDR2-667 and I cannot run at 1T. For this type of experimenting it is better to get the memtest bootable CD than to boot into OS/hd. Let's you confirm memory is good before letting Windows do the fandango on core...

Yep, and I would add that I am set to "auto" for all the memory settings, I just set memory clock for ddr2-533 (266mhz), flexibility off and manually set the fsb to 266 (or more for oc).

No, In fact as soon as I saw your post I pulled the cover off my case and did a "touchy feely" on the two mosfets near the ATX connector and the others along the top edge of the board and none of them feel hot.

You bought too fast memory for this board, and it does not like it. You would have been better off with just PC-5300 memory and the flexibility option turned off. This board runs better at DDR2-533 bios setting.

I am running the latest VIA driver along with a Western Digital SATA drive and I don't see any problem with HWINFO32 information about the drive. It shows everything, model, cache size etc... Am i missing something here?

FWIW, I am getting 5261 int and 5277 float with fsb @277 and 1:1 with 4-4-4-12-2T. If I switch to 333 mhz memory clock the ratio goes to 4:5 and I get slightly less performance. I am still on the 1.50 bios.
