Is it cable or DSL? With cable, you are still sharing the bandwidth with others. Be sure your modem can handle that much speed. It may be limited. If you have to have that much bandwidth, go buy an industrial strength modem and router of your own that will handle that much speed. What...
Are you making the changes as admin in the pc's? (permission to make changes). The IP isn't on the NIC so it doesn't matter what brand is in it. The IP is in software. Be sure in the nic adapter settings that TCPIP is checked as on, and that it is bound to the nic.
Try uninstalling...
I'd stay away from Linksys routers and access points. I have a stack of dead ones here from my customers.
Besides, why would you use a router that has the sources code available on the net, and hackers have
reprogrammed them to for man-in-the-middle attacks?
I just came from BestBuy. They have a 1tb MyBookWorld (world edition) NAS with ONE drive, and internal NIC for $329.99
BUT
They also have a MyBookWorld NAS with TWO DRIVES, set up as raid, for $299.99.
I haven't been able to find them that cheap on the internet anywhere.
