Internet speed

I have wireless internet service and there is a little connection status window in my taskbar that says the speed is 54.0 Mbps. Yeah I know that that is bits but still isn't that a little fast? Quite often I don't think that I am getting that download speed even though it tells me that it is.

PC Probe vs SpeedFan

My ASUS P5Q Pro main board has the ASUS PC Probe II utility which monitors the vital components and gives alerts for problems and monitors fan rotations CPU temps etc. SpeedFan pretty much does the same thing. Which one would be considered best for the job?
