Does anyone still get the AMD 7xxx bug where your monitor doesn't wake up from sleep?

Upgraded to 13.4, issue changed and got worse, several CTD's, finally stable but when attempting to resume both monitors power back up with black screens and the main has a pink bar of about 6 pixels across the bottom of the screen, both on DVI and both ran like this for years, back to the buy a...

Great to see this post, I've been shopping for a new video card because about a month ago my xfx 5850 started with this exact problem, it had previously had occasional issues on the 2nd monitor when resuming from a sleep, maybe 5 times in a year (I never power my PC off), but about a month ago...

Suggest me a mid-life-crisis ride

I'd go the other way, grab a nice E type Jag, midyear Vette, gull-wing Benz, whatever one turns you on the most. If you pay enough from the right people you'll get the toy in great running shape and have something that is much more exclusive than the standard "I'm a rich douche" Porche or M.

WTF: local dealer advertising Nissan Altima @38MPG

My 06 gets 27, my driving can pretty much be classified as city, and I drive it like I stole it. I'm sure if I gave it to my old man he'd get 35 hwy with no problem, and they made a bunch of improvements to the engine in the last few years.

Highest compression ratio for 91 octane?

As many others have posted it depends on alot more than just compression ratio, but if you're running all iron and carburated I would say 10.5-11 is about the limit, I've run my 327's up to ~12.5 but up there you definately need 110 octane, or some form of liquid lead additative. Right now I'm...

Why did you pick your current car?

06 2.5L Altima with 5 speed It had to be a manual. I got the chance to see how just about every plant builds cars and one trip thru Ford and GM was enough to scratch them off my buying list (I spent much more than one trip in these plants), coupled with the lack of anything interesting...

Does anyone buy medium grade gasoline?

I'll actually confirm this, my buddy's STS with the V6 got ~2mpg MORE on 87 than on 89. My Altima, book says 87 is fine will stall backing out of parking spaces if I use 87, I get at least 50, up to 100 more Km per tank if I use 89, and the butt dyno feels much faster.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, you can have my manual when you pry it out of my cold dead hand. I'll happily take the reliable simplicity of a manual over the expensive complexity of a automatic any day. The newer DSG dual clutch trans are just another more expensive hand grenade...

Got it monday, had one hard crash and one annoying bug but the game is awesome (with the cowboy repeater sometimes vats locks up). Running 19x1080 on an i7 with two screens, constantly on the 2nd screen too. ~lvl 10 almost to new vegas.

Lol, full of fail, if there's a loan he can't sell it, he dosent own it the bank does. Do not default though, it will hurt you. Go to the bank, tell them you want out and ask what your options are. I'm amazed you're paying $380 for a versa too ... they kept advertising those cars for $9999...

Advice for CD Player that keeps being stolen

Install an alarm system that pages the remote, get a .45, problem fixed. After the 1st radio got stolen in my soft top samauri I 'added' fish hooks to the back of the radio, if they're going to steal it at least its going to hurt.

They can stick the same motor out of the vette in it, its still not going to make it 1000 lbs lighter, or improve the suspension, I think the vette's safe.

Recommendation on bed sheets

TJ Maxx, tuesday Morning etc are hit or miss, get 400+ thread count and feel them yourself, I've gotten a few sets from Costco (600tc ~$60 for queen) and they have actually out lasted the discount outlet ones, and are usually the same price, or a bit more.

"been in a few accidents" is not fair, its trashed. Sounds like its time to walk away, yes the honda may have made 200k miles by now, but it definately does not have another 100k in it.
