I have one stick of Buffalo RAM, although it is not the one currently being sold. Mine is Buffalo Tech PC3200 with Winbond CH-5. It can easily do 2-3-3-6-1T. I was surprised at the high quality.
yeah i hope not, it was like $10 more than the Samsung lightscribe drive at newegg. The samsung one had a nice combo deal too. I went with Benq because the reviews at cdrlabs.com & cdrinfo.com both gave it editor's choice or whatever.
BTW, the latest firmware is BCHB, do I not want that?
Ok the current choices from newegg.com, zipzoomfly and other popular online retailers is
Liteon SHM-165H6S
Samsung SH-S162L
Benq DW1655
HP DVD840I
HP DVD740RI
While the ones at office depot are memorex and are lightscribe dvds, they are not the same as the ones at best buy. The ones at best buy are lightscribe v1.2, DVD+R 16x.
I think the ones at office depot are older and I'm not sure whether it is lightscribe v1.1 or what. Also, don't think...
To the poster who says that lightscribe is ultimately useless....try giving someone their wedding video dvd disc labeled with a permanent marker. I want it to look professional, but thanks for your recommendation for the NEC nonetheless.
oh on that auction it's weird...the / basically is seperating the different timings based on the speed the RAM is run at. You need to look at the right most number as you'll be running at 200mhz (DDR400).
Your ram will only work as fast as your slowest model. I would download cpu-z (google that word to get the software) and see what the timings of your current ram module on your son's computer are. The ram moduel you get needs to be at least as fast as that.
I found looking at some of the reviews of DVD burners at CDRlabs.com to be helpful, but I'm still having trouble choosing between these lightscribe drives:
Liteon, Samsung & Benq
I'm in the market for a DVD Burner. Since Lightscribe burners seem to be just a few bucks more, I'd like to get one that does that.
I've been browsing newegg.com and these seem to have top reviews:

The retail box shows a beige as well as a black face plate. Looking around online, newegg.com and others only seem to have it in black.
Any ideas on how to get the beige drive or a beige faceplate?
BTW, if you have this drive what firmware are you using?
I ordered two cartridges and I got them delivered last week. They shipped the next day and I'm surprised at the quality level of the ink and cartridges. It's really good.
Are you sure that it was the model in the pictures? You said you had a hard time recognizing her because she had gained weight, but only her hair color was the same? Even if a person gains weight, their face should be similar or recognizable to when they were skinny. Was this the case? What...
