Problems with BFG 8800GT OC card

Bought the same exact card from Best Buy in Tucson. I got that clicking noise too. One way to resolve it is so set RivaTuner to 50% fan speed, actually makes it quieter sadly. It still makes the noise before it enters Windows though. Would you mine explaining in more detail how you fixed the...

I would try boosting the memory voltage but the problem is I cannot see anything. I suppose the system is technically "posting" since it is running (I didn't have a mobo speaker hookup for some reason...) I cannot even get into the BIOS. The computer just sits there with all the fans running...

It appears to be working again. I had used the wrong PCI-E connector on the 8800, I guess it has to be plugged into 2 molex connectors. The one stick of RAM is still screwed though and I can't even get past post with it in. :(

I've already made a couple threads on problems I've been having with this new build. Initially, for about a day the computer seemed to work great. Then around the 2nd day I started getting BSOD and just general crashes all the time. So I ran memtest, got something like 60 errors with my memory...

No spare PSU though I did try to remove one stick of RAM at a time as you said and one was full of errors in memtest the other I couldn't tell because the computer just stopped displaying anything but was still running (Like I said I think this is sorted now because I had the vid card plugged in...

K so the first one is screwed but WTF is going on now? The RAM was going on it's 2nd pass and how it's stopped at 18%. Everything else seems to be going normal but now it's hung up on this one spot... This is getting ridiculous. All this in addition to my noisy as hell CPU fan and my clicking...

Alright I've been running memtest with only a stick in the first dimm slot. It's made it through one pass with no errors. Is it okay to stop now or should I keep going? And if so for how long? I suppose after this there is no use of putting the other stick back in and just trying it with that...

Need your aproval on new comp :)

2gigs is probably fine but with memory as cheap as it is it might not be a bad idea to get 4gbs. I would suggest against getting Patriot memory, though. Mine is apparently full of errors. :(

Just got the 226 and haven't taken it out of the box yet because the rest of my parts aren't here, but all it says on the box is "3000"1" dynamic contrast which means nothing. Probably is a 700:1 panel, but what are you going to do. This whole panel lottery thing is pretty ridiculous.

Ah thanks I see what the 4 pin is now. I was actually going to get the H1A but I'm pretty sure they are identical fans minus the speed difference. Not to drag the thread on any longer but is the H1B preferable because per their listed specs (probably exagerrated) it doesn't seem much noiser.

That Viewsonic looks decent, but, not to sound weird but I can't stand built in speakers. So after rebate I could get the 226BW, but it would have to be from an online vendor for the rebate to still be valid, meaning I couldn't really return it if I got an A or C or whatever other panels that...
