Wait or Buy?

Well if I built a pc now, my budget would be around $1200-1300 (without monitor) for a gaming pc at 1280 x 1024 resolution. Parts are all set and chosen already, but just patiently waiting. But as you said, if I do wait until January, the new Nvidia cards might be released in a few months...

8800GT or wait for new ATI card?

Yup. Either way, I am still thinking of going Nvidia when the 8800 GT goes down to around $250. I have owned nothing but ATI over the past several years (9800 Pro/X850 Pro), time to see what the other side has to offer.
