Valve Finally Announces new Half-Life Game, but...

As someone who has owned a Rift for about a year, it's about time a AAA game experience is coming to VR. The potential in VR is huge, but the lack of quality games after so long is bewildering. Hopefully enough people pick up headsets that there is more interest for producing VR games moving...

Blizzcon 2018

WoW classic is the thing I'm most excited with from Blizz atm (WC3 reforged custom games are a close second). I'm slightly disappointed about keeping the 16 debuff limit. They'd have to tune bosses around it, but they're already going to have to do that if we're starting off with 1.12 class...

How big is your gaming display?

I wanted at least 30 inches and 144 hz with gsync so I got the LG 32GK850G. It's 31.5 inch and 165 hz, and looks subjectively really good compared to my 10 year old dell wfp3007-hc

I'm overclocked to 5 ghz at 1.35 V, which HWmonitor/cpu-z confirm on boot, and I believe I set the power limits to 1000 watts. I don't seem to be throttling due to temperatures, yet when under load the processor goes to 4.8 ghz. I don't know what is going on here, but I imagine I missed a...

Maple Story 2?

I've got about 100 hours into it, max level with 4k gear score being my credentials. The leveling was bad even for an mmo, but got more enjoyable around level 35 due to boss difficulty ramping up and actually having to avoid damage and heal more in groups. The auction house/dungeons&raids/world...

G3258... anyone still running one? Overclocked?

Not sure if you've overclocked a G3258 recently but you may run into an issue where any overclock (even 100 mhz) wont let you get into windows, in which case you need to take ownership of this file: C:\Windows\System32\mcupdate_GenuineIntel.dll and then delete it. This was a hassle I dealt...

The great misconception about a graphic card being "overkill" for a resolution.

There are two big problems with the original argument: 1. The fps on those benches are significantly lower than those in anandtech bench, http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1714 2. I don't think anyone would argue that GTX 1080 is overkill for 1440p. It's like arguing an F1 car is overkill...

Thanks this fixed that issue. I used winscp to change the file. Unfortunately it didn't end up fixing the lag I'm having though but I think I'm gonna just give up on that.

Borderlands 3 back in Gearbox's hands

Me and a friend got back into it recently, totally worth it. There are two new classes since release too, mechromancer and psycho, as well as a ridiculous amount of DLC which was very cheap during steam sale.. We did burn out on it though just before reaching level 72 while we were just farming...

I've played PoE on and off since beta and I still have a tough time valuing items, and it changes month to month with flavor of the month and patch changes. The whole game is so damn complex that after a 6 month break it's fairly daunting to get caught up.

Prices are not the same, they've been increasing with every new major release since like 2012 or so. $350 of performance in like 2010 is equal to $600 of performance now I'd say (CDN currency)

New keyboard

Most important decision you make is going to be which switch you go with. There is a big difference between blacks vs blues, smooth or clicky. Go to a store and try them or take a gamble with what you think you'll like. A $90 keyboard will be > a $300 keyboard if it has switches you prefer.
