matching mobo to gpu crossfire/sli question

ok cool, some dude was reviewing the sapphire 3870 on newegg and was saying that it hurts performance to use a crossfire card with sli mobo and vice versa, just wanted to make sure.

NEW BIOS FOR 3870 CARDS to fix 860MHz lock

would you have to buy an aftermarket cooler to do this? man newegg has been oos on all the 3870's for awhile now, today they had a bunch of 8800gt's though

i am looking for some recommendations on a 19-22" widescreen monitor. i would like it to be gaming orientated as im trying to build a new pc for todays current games. i was reading that anything below 22" kind of negates the point of having a widescreen monitor, but it would benefit me well...

so i have an old antec sonata case with an antec true 38s 380w psu in it. going to upgrade soon to an amd 5000+, gigabyte mobo, 2gb ram, and a 8800gt or hd3870. should i get a beefier psu? i wont be doing any overclocking or running 2 vid cards. i noticed psu's seem alot more energy...

need some mobo help

so i've decided to upgrade my pc due to all these new games coming out that look like a blast, and because it just plain needs it. (running an abit-nf7s with a 1.0 ghz cpu etc..). planning on getting a AMD Athlon X2 5000+ cpu, 2gb ram, and either a 8800gt or 3870. probably wont overclock...
