Hi All. I ran the RC just fine for several months, but am now running 64 bit Win 7 Pro and often have windows explorer crashes when I try to rename a file, change icon properties, the usual stuff that was never an issue before. There is no info on this at the MS site - in fact their email to...
ESET NOD 64 av doesn't load properly with win& 64 bit - couldn't find files it said, at update (though it loaded OK it would not update to latest files)
AVAST home appears to work - and Comodo 64
Hi All. I installed Win7 64 bit on a dual boot XP Pro and Vista 64 Business. (Each on a separate partition on a velociraptor 300). It loaded just fine. Win 7 worked fine (but did not have drivers for a creative xi-fi card, again).
Vista 64 works fine, too.
Alas, in XP, I got a chkdsk...
Hi StiqUK I have a XiFi - no problems with bios 401 in the past or 1101 now.
When I first bought the board the drivers were awful - but over the past 12 months the latest drivers ran fine in XP and both 32 and 64 bit vista for me.
1101 finally got me 800 speed on memory, worth the update...
hi. Yeah, the board's officially old these days.
me. I just up'ed to 1101 and the memory hole's gone. I have 3 GB in four slots, now running at 800 with 4-4-4 timing.
I used a floppy but a usb stick should work too. Followed these directions and used all the switches. No clear cmos...
Swans M-10.
The woofers on these logitechs have had a run of broken parts - the tube connecting to the woofer port being badly glued and arrives broken after shipping. Yeah they can be fixed but the shipping is more than the speakers; opening them on your own a serious trail and often...
What have you all used for file encryption software? I am looking for free or very low cost options. There are several available, so I wondered what ones you all find best.
I plan to encrypt a small partition on my data drive, and to do the same on my free agent portable. (I have not yet...
Hi All. My memory now set, I am back to an old question.
I installed 64 bit Vista Enterprise and all seems good but 1) my GeForce 8800GTS 640 card is read by the OS has having no memory and is not aero ready. It does run Crysis and other games just fine. (And its not so bad with a classic...
Hi All. I am a noob to memory over clocking. Following Justageek's good advice, I am running 3 GB of GSkill 6400 CL5 memory (2 1 GBs in black slots, 2 512s in yellow slots - all are good singly and have passed a run of memtest). But, the four sticks to make 3 GB dual channel won't POST at 800...
Hi Justageek. Thanks for your earlier help - I completely forgot about two sticks for DDR!
So, I'm trying two 512 sticks along with my two original 1G sticks. One at a time, the 512s will each boot normally at 1.92 or 2.01v and stock timing, but post stops at memory check with all 3gb...
I have tried NVidia and Asus drivers for sata under Vista 64 bit with no luck. Everything else works just fine and I have had no compatibility issues with older programs (like Photoshop 7, freebie utilities)
Anybody have a suggestion as to a fix? Thanks.
Take 2 - no cat on keyboard. Hi Justageek. I want to add a third 1GB stick of GSkill memory - what slots are you using? (mine is GBNQ run stock at 1.9v on a dual boot XP + Vista Enterprise system) Cheap enough to give it a try.
Thanks in advance.
Hi All. I like really thin mouse pads. Any of you use a paper thin variety you like?
I have been happy with 3ms precise surface and an Xtrac pro - both good but the Xtrac is a bit thick (high) for my liking.)
Thanks.
Check out http://www.esreality.com/?a=longpost&id=1265679&page=1 They note the 310 is mostly a s good as the 518.
518 was too big for my hands. I like the 310 (medium size, medium arch) and the Krait (low arch, great software).
I agree with potato about finger action being an advantage...
I like my Krait as my hands aren't real big (men's medium glove). Works fine. best if you like to lay your fingers flat down on the mouse.
I got a 518 but it is way to big for my hand
Great software.
I got a Seagate Free Agent pro at BestBuy for 139. Its USB2 and e-sata and comes with very good software for backups (pro model only).
It does have an on off switch, but its on the base and many people miss it. Big yellow lights OK but don't appeal to me. Nice product.
Someone on the...
