Update, Seagate fixed the drive for free and returned it working with data intact. awesome!
sorry for the revive but i think it's important to end the story with the fact that Seagate/Maxtor handled the issue admirably.
i had seen similar things on the subject. looking for feedback from people who corrected the issue or dealt with seagate and got it fixed. i'm shipping my drive tonight or tomorrow morning.

they need to fix the cod 4 server browser. it pings 15000 servers and give you only a few with reasonable pings and a few more with mega high pings and when you joing those the ping is fine. they need to fix it.

Call of Duty 4 version 1.7 server browser reporting low number of servers and HIGH pings but when you join a server the ping is low. I have seen this being reported on many forum postings but I've yet to see a solution that is reported to work.

Thinking about getting some ddr3 ram on my p35c board from gigabyte, anybody have any experience with it? is it worth it now that ddr3 can be bought for 60 bucks for 4 gigs?

voltages don't have to be perfect.

i don't really have problems with my board but there are certain issues that bother me, one is long term stability.
just do what everyone else does, start raising your fsb and prime95 testing. don't think 2.8 is what you will get. it's a guessing game. just hope you have good luck.
i have one of these chips and have oc'ed it to 2.2 on stock cooling, no issues.
i don't know if it applied to all boards but this board does not like 4 sticks of ram.
a recent article on anandtech talked about how not just gigabyte but all MB makers focus on overclocking more than stability.

ok, first thing i tried was turn off the power supply with the computer already off, unplugging the cord and pressing the computer's power buttom....then i plug the power cord again and turn the psu button back on and turn the pc on...went to the bios in the MB tweak section and it showed...
EXACT SAME PROBLEM HERE THAT STARTED THIS POST. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS BIOS F11'S FAULT...TRIED FLASHING TO F9, F10 AND F12E...PROBLEM STILL THERE. I WILL TRY SOME OF THE THINGS I READ HERE AND REPORT BACK.
