My pressed copy of Ubuntu will not finish installation

Do the boot disks not have a 'check disk for errors' option? I seem to remember that they do. Run that, and if it passes, use the memory test that's also on the disk.

This may be a dumb question, but why is the interesting part of the die colored? I always assumed the coloring was for visualization purposes and that a fabricated die would be uncolored.

Get them a desktop from the Dell outlet (dell.com/outlet), where its $300 for a smallish desktop with Vista/4gb/e5200. So cheap, you can't go wrong.
