I have installed the 1013 BIOS and am happy because it solved the issue I had where the graphics card (PCI-E x16) would power off and on for a second during (re-)boots. So they solved what they state in the changelog! Thx ASUS! :)

Let me guess: you connected the HD to the SATA2 port powered by the JMircon chip, right? Try it on one of the native SATA1 ports. I know you lose NCQ and stuff but at least you can rule out the HD as the culprit. And wait for better SATA2 driver...

Yes but the guy in the article was using a Radeon 9700 Pro which is pretty similar to our cards. And he noticed that it uses a much higher PCI latency value (248) compared to 32 for the Soundblaster Live. Maybe this is what produces the stutter effect... Yes, the same happens to me. Yep...
