i was able to get my e2140 to 2.9ghz on stock volts and stock cooler at acceptable temps. id suggest running ram/cpu at 1:1 and slowly ramping up your cpu speed and stress testing at each increase while monitoring temps.
alrighty well i feel a bit better now :) just to clarify i can squeeze a finger underneith the fins and touch the copper pipes and copper plate ontop of the cpu and is not hot. if thats normal then im happy:)
basically i was fooling around with my pc today running prime95 small fft. i decided to take the side of the case off and feel the cpu heatsink. the fins on the heatsink were not hot to the touch nor were the heatpipes directly ontop of the cpu chip itself. it felt just a bit over body...
im in the same situation! i have a m0 e2140 at 3.2ghz and 1.38v with a hyper tx2 cooler. my temps are a tad higher than you guys at idle and load. im confused on the whole readings but coretemp 96.1 sure makes me feel better even if it is infact off lol. can we compare m0 temps to older chips to...
oc that e6300! i have a e2140 and 8800gt. even at 1680x1050 ocing my processor(1.6-->2.9ghz) made a nice fps improvement :) but yea that 8800gtx is gonna feel nice!
i have a e2140 oced to 2.9ghz. this is at stock volts and stock cooler. pushing it any higher i get errors when stress testing. now that i got a new cooler (hot deal;) i plan on trying to push it a bit further.
what is the typical time to recieve a replacement in return? and does the fact that i sent in a rebate have any effect on rma?? i may just order a new psu and sell this one to a friend if it takes a while. thanks again for everyones help!
edit: sell the swapped one...not the noisy one.
correct, only usb port used is the mouse on my motherboard. now that i have everything apart, i also notice psu making the noises as well as headphones during program loading and such.
ok sorry for the newb question but what does the sb in 5vsb stand for??
also i meant the 2 usb and other connections on the front of case were not connected to anything *internally*. the cables are just coiled up at the bottom of my case.
my mouse is usb and connected via the back of the case (usb on motherboard). i do have a set of connections on the front of my case including two usb ports but nothing from that is connected to anything. reset, power, and led power are only case related things connected to anything. again noise...
ok so i have pretty much everything laying out and thank goodness everything booted up fine(im paranoid about that stuff hehe). moving the mouse around is a good symptom inducer so i leaned over while wiggling the mouse and the noise was clear....coming from inside the psu. that darn...
thanks guys! ill set everything up outside the case to figure out exactly where the noise is coming from. just a note...the noise isnt very loud at all outside the case. in fact i never even payed attention to it until i kept hearing the noises through my headphones and found it similar to the...
im sure it was just a mistake but 400 x 9 = 3.6 ghz.
i just built a new system and was had the same dilemma. i ended up with
e2140 and gigabyte p35 ds3l. stock hsf and settings i worked my way up to 2.93ghz (366x8) at my stock vid 1.26 and ram at 1:1 ratio. stress testing and gaming have...
