Latest GPU that will not be bottlenecked by i7-875K

I stuck a 780ti in my i7-860 rig and my cpu runs at 3.5hghz. I'm sure it's not an optimal combination, but who the hell cares. I played bf4 single player on 2560x1080 all maxed and no problem and according to precisionX the gpu load was always at max. I came from a 5870 but didn't feel like...

Asus 290x DCII (1185/1550) Review Studio (including a ref. 290 1089/1450)

Awesome card! Their power consumption values for the boards alone seem high though? But regardless, 612w for an overclocked card is massive! People thinking about buying it and increasing voltage better make sure their PSU is up to the task.

***Official Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark scores! Thread***

Installed my Gigabyte 780ti oc on my trusty old i7-860 rig. Stock clocks are 1020, boost 1080 but it never went below 1150 according to afterburner.

The ti ghz edition wasn't available for me yet, so I too chose the ti oc version. Looking at this review of the ghz edition, which also includes the oc edition because they reviewed that two weeks prior, I'm not bummed that I didn't want to wait any longer. The oc edition is already plenty...

GTX 780 Ti reviews

Well I bit the bullet. I ordered a Gigabyte ti oc edition. Coming from a 5870, and tired of waiting for the non ref 290s, I figured this would last me a long time. Playing at 2560x1080 if games support it.

[VC] GTX780 Ti Performance

Halo cards are always disproportionally more expensive than their closest follow up card. The good thing this time around is that there are plenty of alternatives from both sides. I don't think there's anyone that will feel unhappy with how the graphics card scene looks after tomorrow compared...

Maybe due to a difference in driver used? PCPer used V5, [H] used V6. Dunno if that could account for that.

I can't help but think that maybe why the reference cooler is only adequate at best, is that maybe AMD never intended to ship a lot of them. It shouldn't come as a surprise to them that their own chip runs hot, too hot for their cooler, and that it'd be something they would get a lot of flack...

Ha, I like your post because you have exactly the same setup as I do. Same cpu, mobo, ram, vid card, and while you have satisfied your urge to get a 280x, I'm still eyeballing one myself. :D

If they're smart they price it below the 780 so they won't look the fool when NVIDIA responds with a price cut on the 780 after which AMD might feel pressured to reduce the price as well. Priced at 549 like the 7970 were at launch and I can see these flying off the shelves everywhere if...

So it'll be comparable in performance as the 290x, around the same price, comes with 3 games, AMD will probably want to rekindle their Never Settle bundle before the holidays too, and so everybody wins. No matter which colour you prefer, there's a card for you this Christmas. :D

I think they'll release at the same prices as the 7950 and 7970 did. Those seem to be prices people are willing to spend on single gpu AMD cards. Any more than that and they'll tend to look at Nvidia because it's a stronger brand name.

i7 920 x58 vs i7 860 p55 - same price

I went with a i7 860 combo with Asus p55 deluxe unit. Same price as a i7 920 all in all but I keep my pc mostly in idle state and I was really charmed by the Lynnfields power savings. That was basically my reason for going that route. I figured for some occasional gaming it would be enough and...
