Thank you. In your opinion, should I just wait till the E7's are out? I want to build a top of the line system, but I dont want to buy the server from Dell or HP. I want to custom build it.

What 8800GT is this?

Well, this one seems to have a much smaller fan, than the usual ones. I have a EVGA 8800 GT which is definitely longer than this one.

I unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in. Then I tried again and it worked, but right after the post beep, the screen to choose from "safe mode" and "start windows normally" comes up. I chose normal start up and the vista loading screen came up for a second and then there was a flash...

HAHAHAHA..... rofl. I really didn't expect that one. I just got GRID two days ago and it is an amazing game. I really like all the Need For Speed series. (I think I am the only one on this forum). If you like driving around in an open world, then you should really get Test Drive Unlimited...

I have a Lenovo 3000 K1 desktop with the Q6600 chip. This desktop has a dial that can be turned to change the core clocks and other voltages up or down. My core clock is supposed to be at 2.4 GHz, but its stuck at 1.6 GHz. The multiplier should be at 9.0x, but its at 6.0x. I have tried...

My new 8800gt, a few questions

My 8800 GT doesn't go above 55C either. Even while playing Crysis at High setting with anti-aliasing on. Rivatuner is a good program, but it gets a little complicated and its interface is not too user friendly. Personally, I use eVGA Precision, now this software is the beast. Really nice...

I would recommend using EVGA Precision as posted above by JustaGeek. I just downloaded the software today and is much easier to use. I wish I had known about this software before.

8800gt Idling at 73c

I don't know, but all those temps seem really high to me. My 8800 GT idles at 39-44C and at load around 51-57C. Maybe its because I bought the AKIMBO kit and added that. Also, my fan speed at idle is 50% and at load 70%.

Possible problem with 8800GT

I don't know how good that particular PSU model is, but there are other PSU's out there known for their quality. I personally have a CoolerMaster, which is working fine so far *knock on wood*. Antec is another one you can't go wrong with.

Possible problem with 8800GT

I don't think you have enough amps on your 12v rails in your PSU. I have a 500W PSU with two 12v rails with 16 amps on each rail. So, if I am doing this right I have a total of 32 amps. The 8800 GT requires a total of 26 amps. I am running my card on the borderline and maybe thats why when...

Well, the 9800 GT requires a 8 pin connection, but I don't think the 8800 GTS or the 9600 GT require 8 pins. I would just go with the 8800 GTS if the price comes down, if not get a 8800 GT, works beautifully for me. Not really a big fan of 9600 GT. Just because they are cheap and seem to...

So, I got my Gears of War. Installed the game flawlessly, run the game, go through the menu to start a new campaign and it starts loading and just when its about to start, it crashes. I have done this countless number of times and no luck. If anybody else has gone through this same problem...

when I get gaming, I don't even notice the noise. I just get in the game and forget everything else. I am actually about to setup rivatuner to handle the fan at idle to be around 50%(which is pretty quiet) and then set the fan speed to 100% when i start a game. Lets see if it works.

i got an EVGA 8800GT, and working beautifully so far. (knock on wood). It does run a bit hot on stock fan speeds, so I just increase the fan speed to 100% and I am all set. Can't say that the other are not going to run hot or not, but realistically, its a one slot card, so all of them are going...

why not?? vista compatibility issue? or it because it doesn't send the computer in hibernation, it just revives it. Also, what is APM enabled.

One of my friends had this software called "intelligent wake up". not sure if it is still available or not, but it used to do the job right for him. Every morning the PC would wake up on its own and had a couple programs running that he wanted and by the time he'd get to the PC he was ready to...

I got a EVGA 8800GT a week ago and it idles around 39C and under load it is 47C with my case open at 100% fan speed using ntune. I have no problems with loud fan noise or anything like that, as long as it performs, i am happy. To make my temps go lower i put a room fan right next to my case...
