    3870. i don't really know anything about ati either. i can enable oc with rivatuner and it will work in 3d clock mode, but i have to reboot for it to run idle at 300 again.

    anyone else have this problem with tf2? it's running in 2d clock mode. i noticed my fps were dropping in the 40's and i checked my temps and they were only at 47..only 7 more than idle. sure enough, i open up ccc and it is running at 300 on the gpu instead of 800. any way to fix this?

    i had problems where the rescue ships would not come. they would sit in the ocean forever. that level has all sorts of issues. reminds me of farcry when the black guy on the boat just stayed out in the ocean instead of coming to me.

    2900xt is just as fast as the 3870. even with his odd setup it should still be faster than a g92 gts. the g92 gts is about 10% faster than the 8800gt. 2900xt crossfire with anything would be faster than that. you're overstating the performance of the gts.

    its just a safety precaution for overclocking. it wants to make sure you have it all plugged in the way you're supposed to. if it doesn't need it, just fool it and it will work. if it did need it, it wouldn't work. just a precaution.

    AT people are just tech freaks. of course they will vote 64. it's the higher number. higher = better =0 lets not kid ourselves. most gamers use xp in 32bit. better performance, better everything(but a lower number of ram!). for dx10. the best is to dual boot and ONLY vista for that purpose...

    its just that 3dmark06 is super sensitive to quad core/sli setups. i guess 10.5 to 13.1 is ok, but 10,300 for a 3870 crossfire? something is seriously wrong there. maybe they were using the old p4's or the athlon xp.

    whats the processor they are using there? 3dmark06 is HEAVILY dependent on your cpu.. my crappy budget system should not get more marks than crossfire anything. i know 3dmark means almost nothing but crossfire should get over 10k unless something is seriously wrong.

    seems a little low. i have a 2180@3ghz and a single 3870 and score almost 11k. btw, that pro core should reach the xt speeds. its the same thing. infact, it should go 800+. what is the fan speed set to on the pro?

    i did not recommend that card for the 24. i recommended it over the 3850 512. i recommend the 8800gt 512. nowhere in my posts do i say get the 8800 256 for your 24. only if you consider getting the 3850 512 for 200. u iz strait blind man

    its probably so low from the 6x multiplier while idle. using stock hsf and 1.39v 3ghz coretemp/hwmonitor(these programs have to be wrong) say 16c core 1 15c core 2. ambient 20c. load usually is around 51c. it's freaking freezing in my room.

    the 256 is also slower(1-5%) than the 512 on those tests because of the default speeds. you can raise em to 512 speeds no problem.

    http://en.expreview.com/?p=64&page=5 the 8800gt 256 is faster than the 3870 unless you use aa/af high res. it blows the 3850 512 away no matter what. without aa, 256mb is perfect for high resolutions. and aa isnt really needed in high resolutions for the performance hit you take anyways.

    i got 7950 with a 2180 at 2ghz and an hd3870. when oc'd to 3ghz i got 11000. it seems cpu makes a HUGE difference. yours is still lower than it should be.
