Thanks for all the input. But was definitely the card. I exchanged it at Best Buy for a new one today and all of the problems are solved! :D

I am using the 169.21 forceware driver. I uninstalled, booted into safe mode, used driver sweeper, and reinstalled, but still have the same problems. Ironically, after reboot, I didnt experience any of these problems when the standard windows driver was used for display. . . but unfortunately...

Connection to my monitor is via Monster cable DVI --> HDMI cable. 2d image quality is far inferior right now and I cant figure out why. . .

A wide screen LCD for under $400?

L2410nm is definitely an P-MVA panel. It is absolutely gorgeous. I picked mine up from newegg for same price as Soccerballtux. I absolutely love the display and would recommend to anyone.

MSI P35 Neo2-FR

So far I love the MSI Neo2-fr. It has everything the platinum has but without firewire. I was also considering the GA-P35-DS3R, but I picked up the MSI board for about $40 less than the Gigabyte, so that was an easy choice.

MSI P35 Neo: OC potential with E2180

My e2160 hit 3.0 ghz right out of the box with no problems at all. Didnt increase voltages or anything. 110% stable. I know it could go higher, but I havent tried it yet.

Upgrade help

Rockhound1, I am just like you. I don't like to spend more than $100-$200 for a graphics card. I too would like to wait to see what prices/availability do in the short term. I am also curious to see what the "next-gen" cards (even if they are only a refresh) are capable of.

Good cheap upgrade; what do you think?

My setup is very similar and I think you will like it. I have my 2160 running at 3.0 ghz which it hit right of the box with no problems. Depending on what OS you run, you may need to upgrade to 2 gbs of RAM.

MSI P35 Neo2-FR best choice for my needs?

The Neo2-FR has raid but no firewire. You might be able to save some money and pick up a board in the $100 range, like a Gigabyte G35S3L or an Abit IP35 E/V. I love the neo2fr though and if you dont mind MIR, you can get it for the same price as the other boards and get extra features.
