the reason why i'm asking is because i can't find any difference between these two motherboards from looking at the website...
doing some research after reading all of your comments i've come to the conclusion that i should buy a H61 motherboard because i actually don't intend to overclock. also i've changed my mind on the cpu and now i'm planning on buying a i5 2400 instead.
i'm thinking of going a bit cheap on the motherboard and buying mobo #1 but i'm also having some doubts about cheaping out on a mobo and having performance issues later on vs mobo #2
here are the two motherboards
mobo #1
Gigabyte H61M-DS2H mATX LGA1155 H61 DDR3...
what drivers were you using with m2a-vm to run windows 7?
EDIT: i just realized i linked you guys to the wrong mobo in my first post. i corrected the link and it now goes to the mobo that i have.
i looked on the manufacturer site http://ca.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2AVM/
and can't find any info about this mobo being able to run windows 7.
i searched on google but people were only asking about the M2A-VM HDMI version of the motherboard. i only have the regular M2A-VM.
also...
i found a really good deal on some memory sticks which is mushkin ddr2 800mhz 2x1gb.
however when i went on the motherboard manufacturer's site i went to check on "qualified vendors list" it didn't have mushkin brand memory sticks on its list of qualified vendors lists. does this mean i can't...
it's a pretty big change. my current desktop is 5 years old. so i guess i might as well order a hard drive with the new computer and just sell my current comp as it is.
i plan on buying a new desktop and i'm going to order everything new except a hard drive. i plan on removing my current hard drive from my current computer and popping it into the new rig.
my question is: if i pop my current hard drive into my new computer, will my computer be good to go...
i looked on the website and it says that the Phenom II X4 925 (HDX925WFK4DGI) is compatibble with my mobo.
however when i went to a store website to buy this CPU, the store lists the CPU AMD Phenom II X4 925 with Manufacturer Part Number HDX925FBK4DGM. this part # if different from the one...
just finished single player and it wasn't bad. but imo mw2 ending > mw3 ending. just something about mw2 being much more epic than mw3.
anyways i wonder what the next storyline will be for the next game?
i have a really old mobo, i think maybe 5+ years old? i brought this computer around 4 years ago and the only things i've upgraded on this comp are the power supply, GPU (2 times), and cpu. my current build is in the sig i i'm wondering if this comp can last me another 2-3 years with nvidia's or...
ok so i'm specifically looking for an auto clicker that would click on the chosen window but would not interfere with normal mouse usage. meaning that i need a program that can click on one window, while i go about my business such as surfing the web on another window. does such an autoclicker...
well you see there's a difference being part of sas going on a mission and a resistance cell in your own home country, you don't really expect a resistance cell to steamroll (happened many times) the guys occupying you.
and if you played the game you'd be surprised about "anything resembling...
ok so i played about 1 hr of single player so far and i'm disappointed with homefront. i really got hyped up by the trailer and the storyline and thought the game was going to be just as good as any COD game. but the longer i played, the more let down i was by the game.
it doesn't feel like...
so i installed a program a while ago and then removed it from my computer but every now and again a pop up appears asking "the feature you are trying to use is on a cd-rom" and asking me to put the cd rom in to install the program. the thing is i don't even use the program anymore and this pop...
i'm getting this error
"this application has failed to start because d2d11.dll was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem."
reinstalled and still same problem.
*sigh* *self face palm*
thank you Quiksilver.
also im testing the game black ops on the older comp and everytime i run FRAPS the frame rates drops like hell to 1-2 frames per second o.o. can the reason for this be that my cpu 4400+ can't run both the gts 450 and fraps at the same time...
i upgraded the gpu on a really old comp.
removed the 8600 gts and upgraded it to a gts 450.
this is the following steps i did in order
1: installed latest nvidia drivers
2: removed 8600gts
3: installed gts 450
4: restarted comp
5: ran cpuz and it showed the gts 450 having really...
how high would i have to oc a gts 450 to reach similar levels of a stock gtx 460 768mb? i found an article somewhere a few weeks ago saying you have to oc the core, shader, and memory to a specific amount to reach similar performance on 1920x1080 to gtx 460 768.
hey guys thanks for the replies. the htpc is actually for my parents who want to stream stuff on the big screen tv through a computer to tv output. so i rather not have to move anything between my main computer and the new htpc i'll be getting. also won't really care what it looks like since my...
hey everyone. i'm looking to build a cheap htpc to stream internet videos and movies. looking to go cheap AND as low power consumption as possible. i'm really new to HTPC and never had one before so i'm seeking out expert advice on AT. thanks in advance.

at sites like tomshardwares and anandtech when they do a power consumption test for graphic cards they give numbers such as 200 watts under active idle and 250 watts under full load.
does this mean the graphic card consumes 200 watts per hour when idle and 250 watts per hour when full load...
i have a question that's kinda related to this and was going to make a new thread, but i hope someone here can answer it.

well now i can flip the book on you on being a "professional". backflip isn't actually an advanced gymnastics move, it's a beginner gymnastics move. and i even said that i will not be starting right off the bat with this move. and yes the avearge joe can indeed do a backflip, i've taught a 48...
it's not a secret, did you read the later half of my post? as i said earlier in my replies, i said 5-15lbs was just a ballpark figure i threw out, u dont have to take it literally that everyman reading must be 15lbs overweight. my definition of average joe is probably different from yours. i...
