P35-DS3L and IDE DVD burner issue.[SOLVED!]

Thanks Sorry, but I solved the problem. It was a conflict with damn Daemon Tools. Uninstalled it and I've just burnt 2 dvds at 16x without a problem. Now I need to work out how to keep DT but prevent the conflict. Really need to use it at the moment.

Apparently that used to cause problems but I thought it had been fixed in the newer bios's. I have my external plugged in all the time, as well as usb sticks sometimes and it hasn't caused any issues since the boot issues went away. I think some usb devices are worse than others though. BTW...

Hey Regalk, when does the double boot occur? I'm also using F6 at the moment since it seems the most stable for me. Were you using the same 412x8 with the E2160? How much vcore did you need? RapidJunior, did your board always have problems or did it overclock ok when you first got it?

Well I'm back at 3.0GHz today. No problems so far with standby or anything. Memory running at 416MHz or so. Getting 20.8s in 1M Super Pi test which is comparable to others results. I'll leave it at these settings for a few days and see what happens. But I really think running the system at stock...

Is this power usage correct?

But it still sounds too low even for my low end components. I know the 65W rating of the E2160 is Thermal Design Power, not actual electrical power usage. Yet it still doesn't add up for me. Though if that is correct, then I ain't going to complain :)

Doesn't speedfan show you the DDR voltage? It does for the DS3L but it's labelled as Vcore2. And it shows the same value as in the bios Health Status screen.

Resetting back to default settings after a bios flash

I also clear cmos straight after flashing and before loading defaults. Been flashing a lot lately so have hooked the reset switch connector to the clear cmos pins.

Totally agree with you on that. And most of the computer stores are shut for a few days so it will give me time to check some things. I was reading a post at another forum how these bios issues have been pretty much fixed on some of the P35 boards by a newer bios. I hope that's all it takes...
