So I've had my Synology AC1900 router for a few weeks...

And it's features are much better than any STOCK router I've used. The only issue is that the wifi is mediocre at best. However, I don't use this router for wifi anyway. I use it for the QoS, logging, and it's security features. I used a Netgear WNDR3800 with Gargoyle software for 3-4...

Best cheap 4 drive NAS?

I'm a Synology fan. Great software, good hardware, and their customer support has impressed me as well.

Air turbulence noise?

I was having some turbulent noise issues yesterday after moving my build to a Define R5 case. My my CPU cooler was pushing too much air into the rear fan, which caused an unpleasant sound to say the least. I had to lower the RPM's on my CPU cooler to fix the issue.

Best ergonomic mechanical keyboard?

Out of all the ergo mechanical keyboards I own the Matias Ergo Keyboard is the best (coming from a Microsoft Natural Elite). That being said... while I like the Matias Ergo and the switches are definitely better than the Elite, I keep going back to the Microsoft layout because it is perfectly...

Corsair 800d First Impressions

I've noticed that too, especially the fan cover. The fans I added actually made it louder (but quieter than the Antec 1200). However, they move A LOT more air. I am using the Thermalright MUX-120, two Scythe GT 1850's in push/pull configuration and, Artic MX-3 thermal compound.

Corsair 800d First Impressions

I will make sure to post some up when I get a chance. To be honest, it may have been overkill since the stock setup seemed to be getting more than enough air to my video card and CPU.

Upgrade HD5970 to GTX680 or wait?

I've been contemplating the same thing. To be honest, the 680 doesn't seem like too big of a jump in performance. I am just tired of constant crossfire issues with new releases and having to play on 1 gpu while I wait for a profile update (happens a lot). Also, I want to play some old games...

Memory Voltage, Stability, and Timing Questions

Input Lag vs. Cable Length

Input Lag vs. Cable Length

I know I am splitting hairs here, but what is the delay (probably in nanoseconds) between a 1.5' and a 15' DVI-D cable? Would it even be perceivable in an input lag test? Example: Two identical monitors set side by side running the input lag timer test(Found here: http://tft.vanity.dk/ )...

Which one of these is a better all around monitor for gaming?

60Hz or 120Hz monitor?

Wish I could buy LG W2363D 23" in the US, anyone know when/if it will be released? I went from a 100hz CRT to a 60hz LCD, and it is VERY noticeable. Playing FPS at 60hz sucks pretty bad.

5970 Overclocking Questions

Yeah I use headphones too, but they are open air; not noise cancelling. What temps you run at? I figure these things could take up to 100*C, so mid 80's during gaming should be fine. I think the fan runs at like 35-40 percent while I play BFBC2 (just using the stock auto fan profile).

5970 Overclocking Questions

Been in the market for a video card for the past few months, finally got a good deal (after bing cashback) on a Sapphire 5970 (600 shipped). Figured it's about the same price as 5850 crossfire, so why not. Anyways, once I installed it I ran some stock benchmarks(1.049v/725/1000) in heaven...

I'm not sure about the 902 because I have the standard 900. How about the 1200 though? Doesn't it have a built in controller for all the fans?

Gentle Typhoon vs. Antec Tri-Cool (For Intake/Exhaust)

Just wish I could get a side by side CFM reading of an Antec Tri-Cool on High and a GT 1850, just to compare real world numbers. If you compare the GT and Antec Tri-Cool(on High) side by side, which seems to push more air? I game with headphones on, so I can't really hear them. Just be nice...

My old Thermanright Ultra 120 Extreme...

I was also wondering if my thermalright ultima 90 would mount correctly on the new lynnfield CPUs. Rather not have to buy a new heatsink.

Now it seems to be stuck at 1.35v in cpuz/everest no matter what I change it too in the bios... any ideas? I'm using 0903 bios, no idea way 0907 does.

So I finally got my cpu today and am doing an OC to 3.6ghz as many people are doing and.... I cannot seem to get my CPU core voltage past 1.38v even if i set it around 1.4 and above. I can get a stable OC at 450x7, but to get 450x8 I need more juice to my CPU. Here are my specs. PC Power...
