I kinda felt the same way as you at first and might still feel the same way. I came from a 120hz BenQ that I was using Toasty's (?) fix to keep constant strobing. I'm not sure it was worth the cash for the Gsync but it does shine in games where I can't keep a stable 100 fps which is rare with...
I don't understand the performance/watt thing in a desktop PC. I mean if I'm going to drop the cash on a sports car for racing, why would gas mileage be at the top of my priority list and not performance? The only time I see wattage being a big deal is when it gets out of hand like it does...
I don't have plans for 4k in the near future but there are literally threads upon threads spread across here and other sites about how HDMI 2.0 was a breaking point for many people who were on the line between Fury and 980ti.
Well it remains to be seen so when those tools do come, we'll see if it even makes much of a difference. Stock OC is trash so I would put money on having to overvolt it pretty high to get even a modest OC.
I'll believe it when I see it real world. I wouldn't doubt to see some small gains though. This is all too similar to the old Bulldozer theories and how Windows 8 would be it's savior to utilize it properly...
Common sense tells us that if they released Fury X on a stock AIO solution then it runs too hot to not be throttled on air. I really doubt we will see a full Fury on air. I have no rock solid sources but I would put money on a cut down Fury on air. Keep hope if you want.
Please repeat after me. "Fury will never be halo because it does not have the performance to beat 980ti or Titan X". It is really that simple. You can argue until your fingers hurt from typing but the performance numbers will stay the same and the statement will hold true.
Honestly I feel like we have known this all along. Fury X will be either slightly better or worse than 980ti with or without overclocking at 1080 and 1440p. This is what everything has pointed towards over the past month. No one was expecting crazy numbers like 20-30% more than 980ti. Still a...
Only one I could get to pull up was Full HD Crysis 3 and Figi got hammered by the Titan. Would love to see the rest.
Edit: seems Figi stock and OC falls between 980 stock and 980 OC

Not solid sourcing but at least something.
Fury X 10% better than 980ti at stock? We know 980ti has headroom...
