turns out my os hdd shit the bed. dropped in a different hdd an reinstalled an it's purrin, actually it's whinin. it's a 10 year old wd caviar. got a new wd comin in to replace it.

thanks for the reply. i used the ati overclock featur so i figured it was cool. i'm gettin the fullscreen effect so i'll try comin back down on the gpu.

looks like i might have a faulty mb. after trying several more times to install drivers, the pc is in a infinite reset loop when i try to power it up. all the fans an drives come on but no video and no post. yeah, i love computers...

so, what would be the most noticeable upgrade, fps-wise? faster memory, faster cpu or a faster card? would it even be worth throwin another 3870 or even a 3870x2 to CF with the card i have now? i game on a 19" widescreen lcd with a native 1400x900...
